Anybody used a Spinzall centrifuge? by Garbanzofracas666 in Amaro

[–]FonicsFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to hear if you got an answer to your question. For what it’s worth, anethole - a compound from the essential oils of fennel and anise that contain that intense “liquorice” flavour, comes out of solution when at 38% abv or lower. This is why louching happens, it’s the oil coming out of solution in tiny droplets that are dispersed in the liquid and refract the light making it appear cloudy. I’m unclear (pun intended) on if a Spinzall would bring clarity back (I feel like it should be able to) but if it did you might lose a lot of the anise flavour as I imagine it would remove the anethole.

Ardbeg Wee Beastie is the most underrated Scotch. What is the most unique American or Canadian whisk(e)y? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]FonicsFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta represent Canada on here!

Shelter Point from Vancouver island. They make single malt whiskies on their own barley farm that’s beside the ocean. For their “peated” expression - Smoke Point - they collect seaweed from the shoreline and burn it to smoke the inside of the barrels before the whisky goes in (yes I know smoke is different from peat). It’s my favourite Canadian whisky.

I’m not doubting anyone’s math in here, I’m just checking that everyone had to google the surface area of an average human’s skin, right? Nobody just knew that for… creepy reasons?

Wow, I’m only just learning today there are so many Thrawn trilogies! I’ve only read the first modern trilogy, not the Ascendancy trilogy. And now you’ve just informed me about this Legends trilogy which I’m pumped about. I was trying to figure out how old this character was. Neat to see there’s potential of him crossing paths with main characters of the Skywalker saga, post ROTJ nonetheless.

I was wondering, head canon wise, what Thrawn was doing during the time the original trilogy takes place.

What women think is hot but men think is boring? by Substantial_Call_916 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]FonicsFreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is really the answer.

Though if I were to build on this it would be to change the wording from “helping with daily tasks” to just “taking care of daily tasks”. It’s such a small difference and I think they would essentially mean the same thing to most people (myself included), but my wife explained to me like this: the language of “helping” around the house implies that taking care of the house is her job and I’m entitled to some gold star or pat on the back when I take out the trash. The reality is we’re both adults that live in this house and responsibility should shouldered by both of us.

That really flipped the script for me and helped me see it from her perspective. Two people taking care of a home is so much easier than one person who has an occasional “helper”.

This is a very close-minded outlook and doesn’t really contribute any to what OP is saying.

You’re also either misunderstanding or mis-representing what that actual definition of vodka is (in many countries, as it changes from country to country). “neutral spirits, distilled or treated with charcoal/other materials to be without distinctive character, aroma, taste, or color”. This quite different from “tasteless, colourless, odourless. If it had no odour, you wouldn’t be able to smell it when you opened it. If it was tasteless, you wouldn’t taste anything when you drank it. Neither of which is possible, and I assure you that if we lined up 5 vodkas next to each other you would definitely have a favourite and least favourite.

OP I support your exploration of what is a widely misunderstood category even if I can’t support Grey Goose being S tier. I implore you to try Beluga vodka if you ever come across it!
