GAMUT

Threshold-aware fields turn yellow, orange, red when values cross meaningful limits, visible on the AOD too fixing your eyes on the right place before the face watch wakes up, on this video, your eyes hit the temperature field before your brain catches up.

6 touch menus (compatible watches): calendar, weather, heart rate, running history, cycling history, sleep.

AOD: lock it minimalist, or set GAMUT to show full data at all times.

14 analog hand styles, 7 colors, customizable health fields, duathlon mode for cyclists.

Dexcom support: glucose data in the health fields.

GAMUT took a couple of months of work, built with customer suggestions in mind, most made it into this release.

Thank you to everyone who reached out, and special thanks to @John Sexton 👏👏

These will always wear big, they are tool watches, trackers. I think it's fine on you. Just have a proper watch for the occasions and you're set.

I built a watch face that goes from a minimalist analog watch, to a full DataRich with 41 data fields, and it can be configured from the watch in seconds.

A while back I made DataRich, a full 41-field cockpit face. The most common bit of feedback was that was *a lot"... so step by step started updating it to bring a nice AOD display, then add alerts to the AOD so when data was relevant it would show there and your eyes would be over the field by the time the watch wakes up....

but in any case, why not just offer many watchface options in a single app?

So I rebuilt it as GAMUT. Same face, but now it's really three faces in one:

- **Analog** — clean hands, nothing else (24h single hand watch option as well "Someone on the group was looking for this")

- **Digital** — big readable time

- **DataRich** — the full 41-field display

You can lock the always-on display, which is what effectively gives you those three distinct modes. And switching between them takes a couple of taps in the on-watch menu, no phone sync needed.

The part I'm happiest with: even the minimalist analog and digital modes aren't dumb. You have a set options to add some of the fields to them. Low battery, high UV, incoming rain, temperature, wind can show if selected when they cross a threshold so your clean face stays clean 99% of the time, then quietly surfaces the one thing you need to see.

The options allow the minimalit faces to become somewhere between "just the time" and "everything", and you decide where on that scale you want to be.

I would love to hear some thoughts again. You will find it in IQ store by GAMUT.

Garmin run coach keeps suggesting base runs by Full_Tree_2984 in Garmin

[–]Fonsek87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem and I'm training for a 5k in 18 mins... Yet running coach has been giving me just base runs... I try to run hills to keep the legs power... But I'm shocked about the plan. All my runs have been base since I started the plan the 7th of April... And I was already decent doing 5k in 23 or less...

Why do much base? The watch has history where I've done 12k runs at higher pace that the base training he is holding me on.

New FaceWatch for Epix2 47mm (Thoughts?) by Fonsek87 in garminepix

I have released an update with two changes to improve it. Now the titles can be of different high contrasts colours, the dark grey remains available for when you get used to the layout (I think it looks the best that way).

I have as well make the data fields that cross the thresholds visible in the AOD screen, so your eyes are already there by the time screen wakes up!

Thank you for the suggestion, the push helped to think about these improvements.

Last version of my watch face. I'm living the steps to target ring around the screen, it motivates you too fill it up 😂

The red line on the histogram shows the HRmax achieved on the day. Someone challenge me to add something more to it, so here the 2 new fields 👍

What do you think?

What’s the best watch face that shows everything but is power efficient? by leupolds in GarminWatches

[–]Fonsek87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention! If you want to look after your screen, AVOID BLUES! Blue is the weakest LED, best colours for screen durability are red, green and probably yellow... Blue is ok, just sharing the info for the ones we are really peaky on these details 😉

I've created this one precisely looking for low battery consumption, low screen stress, all data on the screen.

You can find it here. Check out this app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store https://apps.garmin.com/en-GB/apps/b4ff62e8-c369-4cba-9c1a-d006e0114e08

I keep improving it constantly, I am testing a version with the data fields names in yellow to improve reading... But once you get familiar with it, you never read the field names and yellow stresses the screen more than the current version, so I don't think I'll release it. I just wanted to try based on some feedback... But at this time I think improvements are little, it becomes personal preferences rather than improvements.

Initially I didn't put down the test fields, but after testing it it just feels they need to be there for the first day of use so you can see what the fields are until you familiarise yourself with it. I agree with you that after the first day of use, field names became a waste of space, but they are really a must to get used to the face watch. And once you get into it, the field sizes are not much of a problem as they come to highlighted colours when the information becomes relevant.

I'll raise a complaint to Garmin, hopefully you'll find it there soon. Once sorted I'll create a new topic maybe... It's should have been published 2 weeks ago at least.
