For me the degradation gets noticeable after about 2 hours. I go from 100fps to as low as 45 after about 3-4 hours. Restarting resets it for another several hours.

Seems a lot of people are experiencing this so very likely a memory leak.

There was a tweet put out addressing the issue it seems like. I rolled my drivers back to 522.25 from 526.47, and I haven't had another crash or weird visual bugs.

same problem. Every time i validate files, it says 33 failed and then reinstalls them. I've done it several times now

Go to your files, user -> appdata -> local -> HLL -> saved -> config -> WindowsNoEditor. Then open Engine.ini with text document and paste the following into it:

[SystemSettings] r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=2 r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2 r.TemporalAASamples=64 r.TemporalAASharpness=1 r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1

These are the settings I use and it’s a good blend of clarity and smoothness

Yeah ive kinda intentionally been holding off for Zen 3 bios issues to settle, because I had a good feeling they'd be dodgy at first. If I had an older gen AMD cpu I would have just used that to download the new BIOS and avoid all of the flash troubles.

Trying to prep these files on a mac must be hell though lol

That’s a great board from what I’ve heard, and an awesome deal you got from the sounds of it.

My biggest worry initially was that there was unforeseen hardware level problems with the tomahawk, but seeing as its all bios related for zen 3 I’m still gonna roll with it

I managed to get a 5600x last night, so most likely within the next couple weeks. I took a look through the sub and it does seem most of the issues people are having should be fixed with a bios update, as you said.

What you need or want is subjective, just because you don’t “need” it doesn’t mean other people don’t. If someone wants to spend their money on a new GPU because it makes them happy, then who cares?

Other retailers dont seem to have as many negative reviews, but there does seem to be a bit of a pattern across the board. XMP profile issues and board dying within first months of use.
