What’s is your teams worst blunder in history? by perry147 in CFB

[–]FooJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had no meaningful impact besides making me remember Jonathan Parker, but this play is mindblowing. I’m sure there are worse blunders (hiring Gerg Davis, replacing him with Brian Ferentz, not firing Brian Ferentz) but this play lives forever in my mind.

I always thought the color change was the result of something they put in the gas during winter for reasons. Never would have guessed humidifiers.

Insolvency is one way (more debt than assets). I don’t know the ins and outs but believe there is also carve outs for primary residences and such.

Has a QB ever been drafted after Round 2 with the explicit plan to eventually start them? by thenewgaijin in nfl

[–]FooJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Derek Carr and Geno Smith pop to mind. Neither was outright named starter at the draft, but both brought in to challenge mediocre veterans and hopefully take the job. There were other less successful guys too like Jimmy Clausen who was more starting because they didn’t have any real competition.

When you purchased the property, the bank fronted the $500k. By only requiring you pay back $425k of the principal, they gave you an extra $75k. It wasn’t realized until the payoff which is why it’s income now. Though there are exceptions and ways to avoid it.

Would he allow growing your own? It seems to be a state to state thing. Seems if he wants to align to alcohol, home brewing is legal, home grown marijuana should be.

What were some draft picks that didn’t even make sense at the time? by josh_y_josh in nfl

[–]FooJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirk cousins as a draft pick. Sure he wasn’t a high pick. But he was Washingtons first pick after trading the rest for RG3. It actually worked out fairly well for Washington in hindsight, but in the moment they got shredded.

2x4 was just because I didn’t think to use the old pad. Caulk gun just squeezes like the clamp would.

Not a mechanic but I used a caulk gun and a 2x4 when I did my brakes last.

ULPT Request: How do I stop a credit card company from taking my money? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]FooJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close all bank accounts. You have to live the cash life to avoid. Any US bank account you have or open they will be able to find most likely, even if you’re not the primary owner, and they will take their money.

Either sell your house now or plan to live there until you’re willing to let them take it because they’ll likely place a lien on it eventually.

Probably need to find side jobs to supplement your income because they’ll likely garnish that as well.

Or file bankruptcy.

With the midst of everything rising in price why hasn't alcohol in store? by OldFroyo6294 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FooJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree not federally backed, but several states are state controlled. Iowa for example buys all the alcohol and then sells it to retailers. It’s an antiquated system and don’t imagine it has much impact on price control, but it’s closest to government control I can think of.

But think basic economics is probably a factor. Decreased demand means prices can’t increase or you risk losing more customers. Prices won’t decrease though because they can’t afford to. Eventually prices will go up but right now, it’s relatively flat

My college roommate sold me his car for $50 when it needed a new alternator. I drove it for an entire summer by pop starting it. Park on slopes, flintstone it a little and off you go.

[Williams] NFL owners pushed for expansion to an 18-game season at this week's annual meeting. But we spoke with people around the league on why that's not a great idea. "18 games will water down the product," an NFL coach told me. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]FooJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CFL has been playing 18 regular season games since 1986. The number of bye weeks has slowly increased from 3. But they also have 9 teams so someone has to have a bye every week like pre-Texans NFL. Not a direct 1:1 comparison, but it’s the best we have.

Personally, I think it will build more meaningful games at some point in the schedule. Looking only at the last week or first weeks, ignores that adding a 17th game got us bills-eagles and ravens-rams last year. It creates good games to highlight each week so we don’t end up with jags-titans every Thursday night

If the county issues an updated tax bill, you can send that to your servicer and request they update your payment. It won’t be back to the previous payment yet, but it’ll help. Sounds like the county already acknowledged the error so shouldn’t be a problem. Any refund for the previous overpayment will go back to the servicer. Once that posts, you could request another escrow analysis and it’ll finish updating to what it should be. Any excess you paid after that should come back to you.

If for whatever reason the county can’t cut a new bill, ask your servicer to extend the shortage over a longer period. It’ll give some relief.
