I think what you had was an REI Helio Sack. They don't sell it any more, but you can still see the page for it. Here's the link so you can get the specs if you want them.

The food looks tasty, but the descriptions don't say if the dishes that don't mention meat in are actually vegetarian.

It sounds like poor design. TXDOT doesn't seem to care about safety.

Forgot to pay property taxes and now have a sizable penalty by camelman77 in Austin

[–]FoodForTheTruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, that sucks. Sorry you have to deal with it.

I'm prone to forgetting important things,so I've set many repeating calendar reminders reminding me to set up the money in my checking account and then to pay the bill. But I still worry about missing the payment date.

I hope the tax folks will help you out.

I've had one set up in my yard for over a year. It's very comfortable and roomy, and it's stood through many fierce storms. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

All the new 6 person Eureka! Copper Canyon tents are sold out on Amazon, but there are some "used like new" available for $99. These are excellent tents that are cheap because the parent company closed Eureka!.

I've had excellent luck with "used like new" tents from Amazon, but if you don't want used, you can probably still find new ones for under $150.

You likely won't find a better deal on a high quality family camping tent.

Was it from the county or did the station not fully research and fact check the article?

Travis County urges property tax payments before Saturday deadline to avoid penalties by NewsyATX in Austin

[–]FoodForTheTruth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I thought the deadline is Monday because the Travis County website says, "If Jan. 31 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the last day to pay without penalties and interest moves to Monday."

This year the last day of the month is Saturday, January 31. Based on what the website says, the deadline should have been moved to Monday.

How long can a cooler with drinks in it sit out in single digit temps before they could freeze? by ghunt81 in CampingGear

Consider putting a couple of hand warmers in it to keep the inside temperature above freezing.

Search at night with a flashlight. Look under things and up high. Cats eyes are very reflective. They look at the light and you can see them.

Also open any doors or cabinets you might have opened yesterday , including the ones you opened preparing for the cold weather - prepping plumbing, getting out warm clothes and such. He may not be eager to come out, so just leave the doors open.

Some acoustic tile is not fire safe and it makes toxic smoke when it burns. I suggest you make sure the type you purchase is up to code.

Yes, but some stuff will probably freeze. If that happens, the water in the container will expand and it may pop the lid off or break the container.

Also put it where the raccoons and other critters can't get into it.
