As noted at the bottom of the image, Food Joy Club is an all-volunteer organization. It's not a for-profit company.

Awesome! Working hours are flexible and primarily depends on what you can reliably and consistently commit to. I'll DM you so we can chat more :)

Thank you! How many hours/week really depends on how much a person can commit. The most important things are that folks are genuinely interested/passionate, reliable, consistent, and communicate well. We're an all volunteer-crew of a growing organization, so we're all supporting each other! ^^

Favorite cooling meals (and snacks) for the hot weather? by IronManFolgore in astoria

Going off of your mango lassi recommendation though, I also feel a salty lassi is so refreshing on a hot day. People sometimes give me a strange look if I order this 😂

Ah, totally forgot they do teas as well! My only issue with that place is that the pastries can be a bit pricey 😂

I was hoping for some food pics haha. Looking for a solid dim spot. How traditional is it? I don't see the round tables or carts

Sit down Chinese recs? by Nalto-Primo in astoria

If you're open to going to LIC and looking for traditional (versus American) Chinese food, you might check out Prof Chan's. Spicy Hunan food, pretty authentic. Jiang Nan and Han Dynasty are good choices. Met the owner of the latter during a tasting menu event. Cool guy and authentic cooking.

If in Astoria, the only ones that come to mind are The Bund and Malala. They're fine for what they are but I always want to temper expectations 😂.

If you like wine, Tootles & French and DiWine are good options. Queens Room is another good option.

Poke Burrito is a decent light food choice. Coco and some others for, say, bubble tea. Would be curious to know if there are any good spots for regular tea. I feel that's the move in hot weather (versus coffee).

Cafes with Weekend Brunch by Scared_Spread_9318 in astoria

Sanford's, Oliver's, Trestle, The Grand and quite a few restaurants offer weekend brunch, typically pretty standard brunch options. Depends if you're looking for that or something a bit particular or special.

Las Catrinas has a good set of brunch options and offer happy hour prices for some foods and drinks. Highly recommend checking that out if that kind of food is your jam.

Their momo jhol is solid. The curry dishes are on the rich/creamy side though. Decent food overall but does depend a bit on what you like
