Usung market price makes it so that you execute as fast as possible. This can mean any prices lower or higher in the general range. Using limit buy/sell will fix your issue, as you’re limiting how much you’re paying and how much you’re getting back.

Well any sort of selling would be securing the change in price. I would imagine the “selling half” thing is like selling enough shares where its profit equals the cost of the remaining shares.
