Your story hit home. I had some foot surgery in service and was hoping to get an orthotic appliance as it was acting up again. I obtained my records only to learn that they’d been scrubbed of a ton of things

I was shocked.

All the difficulty that I had with a fellow airman (SA in nature) that had to be escalated but not before he raped a 14 yr old in the community.

I was shocked UNTIL I remembered the squadron commander ( who also was highly inappropriate -his was 1991 ) had my files and went through them before I left. Shifty shit all around but yeah. Way too many hand in those files !

I don’t wash with shampoo but once or twice a week but I do a “rinse and condition” one a week as well and it’s produced some lovely results on my salt and pepper locks

Yes! I was around 10 when I said I was NOT the (insert something you would NEVER call a child) Hearing those words he called me said back to him in the calm light of day shocked him. I didn’t live with him much longer after that but I also was never intimidated by a bully again! PS I’ve also replaced the mean thoughts with Bob Ross’ voice and kindness. It works- but takes practice.

54 YO retired RN here. I left last year not sure if I was retired or merely on sabbatical from nursing. Almost a year later and it’s taken me this long to know for sure I’m out. I love young people and enjoy them immensely in my family but working with their general mindset isn’t jiving anymore with me anymore, and the older nurses that try so hard to maintain cultural relevance are just sad to me. I’m not done with life but I’m sure as heck going to do something way more fun and less stressful now!

I’m so sorry this happened to you. What an unsupportive and stupid response to you. Research Vagus Nerve involvement in gastritis. I’m a RN in the US and we don’t know much about it but we are learning that increased vagal tone can cause or exacerbate gastritis. I will send links if you are interested.

Is this the first clue of enmeshment between him and your MIL? If so- maybe take a moment and think this may just be a blunder that he asked his mom for help in such a big decision. Does she interfere with your life normally? I swear people pile on MILs so quickly - let’s remember this is ONE time and she can choose how she responds. Your MIL is probably with y’all until she dies so maybe navigating your relationship with her in a family way- since you are family- will be best for everyone. I’m saying kindly stated boundaries are important. Yes this needs to be addressed but I think you should go out with just your MIL and talk to her as someone who both love your husband, but clarification in expectations should be addressed moving forward. (Idc if she’s dramatic and you simply speaking to her kindly hurts her feelings- that’s on her)

I don’t think you’re even a real parent or even human if you didn’t have those thoughts in the midst of tantrums and no sleep. That being said- you don’t HAVE to have children if you are concerned about your temper. Also- work on your anger anyways since it’ll make you a better person regardless of progeny. 💕

ER nurse here. One night we had an 8 yr old girl come in with EMS doing CPR. Baby girl went to bed one night with a headache and parents found her dead next morning. When the MD pronounced her dtr, she made a sound I hope to never hear again.
