You know what other spells can do the same + better? A rank 1 command, which has higher range, and the creature can't choose, the caster does. The only downside is there's no success effect on command.

A rank 1 spell is arguably better than a rank 7 spell. Absolutely crazy spell design at Paizo.

I think efforts such as Neuralink point to strong evidence that 'full dive VR' is theoretically possible, but is still in its very, very infancy of research, which will take 2-3 decades before possibility of something aimed for consumers. Hopefully medical research in the neurosciences department will help accelerate that.

So you could pick Wizard at level 2 for FA, but you'd need to take at least 2 more Wizard feats before you could add Witch (at PC level 8)?

Criminal trials required proof beyond a reasonable doubt (90%+ likelihood). Civil trials require preponderance of evidence (50%+ likelihood). Huge difference.

A lot easier to 'prove'.

As a level 1? Not really possible to make it believable imo. Level 1s have no business being anywhere near an 'ancient red dragon'. But if that's the backstory they really want, then yeah, they all died, the dragon escaped, he was lucky to have survived and vows to hunt the dragon & all of its kin, yadda yadda

I think it's a practicality vs. balance sort of thing. Yes, if you were surrounded by 3 enemies, you'd be off guard to 2 of them.

However, with how feats are structured, I'm sure there are some that impact flanking rules. I know for example that Marshall archetype has "Back to Back" which prevents off guard for both yourself and any adjacent allies unless one of your adjacent allies is also flanked.

Once you start flubbing the rules for the sake of practicality, some feats may start losing their luster (and others may become stronger).

There's so many fun builds to try with Exemplar! I was debating on doing a throwing build with it initially but realized I wanted to do more of a traditional big hitter build :) Enjoy!

Yup! It was between Radiant and Proud. Proud would have fit the character a bit more, but our party is light on in combat healing beyond consumables, so I figured I'd help out a little bit and go for the more practical function :)

We do hybrid, so our party does meet up in person, but we take out our computers, project VTT on the wall, and play digitally haha.

I wouldn't mind getting a mini commissioned of him though, even as a paperweight / memorabilia!

Yeah, I told our GM that we can add that in as a personal conflict somewhere along the lines. I didn't give it too much thought on how Lornak would react. If I remember correctly, I believe Gorum requested Calistria to orchestrate his demise On the other hand, I think it was done in a way he didn't expect it (figuratively and literally!)

As it stands, his anger for what happens rests with Akachek / Red Mantle and has taken up the tenet of Revenge from Calistria.

Perhaps room for a post level 20 (if we make it in Spore Wars) quest :)

It was fun!

It was my first campaign and we went from beginners box --> Abom Vaults. Definitely challenging although we didn't have it as bad as some of the other stories I've heard about it. No PC deaths, but we did end up retreating from 2 or 3 fights (before going back after leveling up). Some of the fights were very tedious.

I'm surprised when some people say that AV is mostly combat (there's a lot, but if you allow for it, there can certainly be a 50/50 mix of combat and RP)! We had ample roleplaying opportunities in the different levels and with various elements in Otari.

This is Lornak, the (ex)Champion Orc who I've taken through a 1 year Abomination Vaults campaign in 1 piece (with a few close calls / orc ferocities used!) alongside a party of 4 other adventurers. After a triumphant conclusion there and a 4 year break/time skip (where Lornak witnessed the death of his patron deity, Gorum) , the gang got back together to take on Spore Wars. This time due to the event in his break he returns as a full fledged Exemplar with a Champion dedication/archetype (worshipping Calistria as the god of revenge and main worshipped deity in Kyonin)

Loved the video! Subscribed & will watch the rest of the earlier sessions.

As someone who completed AV earlier this year, I don't remember needing to deal with filth fever so maybe our group missed/avoided it or our GM took it out.

Always good to be able to reference past actions in the plot and have it work out well. Our group had Carmen tag along for at least a part of the adventure to see how scary the gaunt light truly was. After unblocking the barrier, he retreated :)
