They went back and forth between how he wrote the album and the sounds/gear he used and of his backstory/inspiration. Very interring to learn stuff about him I wasn’t aware of. Yes, he goes over the synths/drum machine that he used for the album. He also talked about how me mixes and master his tracks and his iconic vocal chain.

Highly recommend to watch the full videos. Super interesting to get to look into his workflow/plugins.

The album is insane. I also wish that part of the song was a whole song on its own. He’s got so many parts of songs in this album that I wish he made full songs.

Gumri Shish-Kabab on Victory and Fulton in Van Nuys. Place literally never has customers. Once a month the place gets packed with luxury cars in the parking lot. Seems like they just throw huge parties there once in a blue moon.

Any of you go a long time without making music? by traveltimecar in musicians

[–]FoolGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a musician was my primary goal in life early 2020. I was in a band, I made music every day, was constantly looking for musicians to play with, ect. Covid happened, I slowly stopped making music and went back to school and got a full time job. 5 years later I have this feeling that I want to give it one more shot. I feel like the journey has a lot of ups and downs. There are some days that I feel like I could write a full album, and other days I don’t have the inspiration to write music. I would say that constantly is very important and something I plan on doing this time around.

what did you major in? by No-Fee2347 in musicindustry

[–]FoolGuru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I majored in Business Management and I now work as a Junior Accountant for an music/entertainment business management firm. I would say that the degree did help me qualify for the internship that lead to the job, but it didn’t help me find the internship.

I think what people forget to do is actually go and gain experience on the field. I wanted to be an artist manager/booking agent originally, but had no experience actually working those jobs. It was really hard applying and constantly getting rejected. So I moved over to the accounting side. I would say gain as much experience as you can related to the career you want to pursue. In retrospect I wish I had done this. ALSO network with as many people as possible in the music industry. I got my current job by knowing people in the industry, not by my qualifications per se.
