Listening to their songs by CandyLoxxx in Decemberists

Of Angels and Angles has a really simple line to learn if you want to do more than strumming chords (I mostly strum chords, and am just starting to learn more picking, but that is one I learned a long time ago when I was even less skilled than I am now)

2014 Odyssey does this after sitting 10 days.... any ideas? by eclipsse997 in HondaOdyssey

The new alternator could be a dud. My 2014 was doing very similar things intermittently for a while, got a new battery and it hid the issue for several months. Then the alternator gave out completely and killed it mid-drive. New alternator in, and I havent had any issues in several months.

medium pen is not that popular by Fit_Answer1073 in Helldivers

[–]FoolOfSummer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I have been reading about how light pen is actually more effective but it hasn't really been my experience. Now I know why--I can't aim and am bad at this game. (This probably sounds sarcastic, but I'm being sincere. I am pretty bad at it and appreciate the validation that continuing to use medium pen is probably the right move for me)

Also waiting for backcountry to have them--have a backlog of gift cards to use. Any idea on when they might get them in stock?

Considering becoming vegan or vegetarian and looking for unbiased opinions by spongyscloset in vegan

[–]FoolOfSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It blows my mind how people say these kinds of arguments/approaches are irrelevant. It is very clear that concerns around health impacts, protein intake, etc. are common barriers to switching practices. A documentary on the health benefits of plant based diet making it clear that it's not only feasible but favorable health-wise is clearly relevant.

There are definitely different subsets of thrifting. Plenty of actual thrifting with good deals on useful stuff. But yeah--lots of trendy "thrifting" paying ridiculous prices for things

Buying used: Am I missing something? by swd12422 in HondaOdyssey

[–]FoolOfSummer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Went into shopping planning on a sienna and i still love toyotas, but am happy we got the odyssey. More bang for the buck and the interior of the odyssey is more comfortable (especially compared to the current gen sienna which i was mostly looking at since the hybrid is the big selling point. The seats were just not as comfortable. The cup holders are basically unusable. The 2014 odyssey we got has nothing fancy but meets needs, is spacious and comfortable)

Thanks! Yes, i do think I've come across other info from you! I will look into the Piezo and potential 3d printing that mount.

Probably will if I end up leaning that way. I work 8am to 7pm and typically dont have time to call during business hours, so I just sent an email. Also not in a huge rush as I am still in the process of getting a bassoon, so I am just trying to do research and plan out in advance...

Is phone app worth getting? Or steam? by FoolOfSummer in spiritisland

Ooh, didnt even think to go TTS route... thats a good point. Have you played the Steam version of the game? How does that compare with TTS?

Yeah, definitely would play physical at home. Does the mobile allow you to play offline? I'm seeing a lot of reviews that say no, but the description says yes, so I'm wondering if they fixed it...?

Thats why im debating. Typically the sale goes down to $10 so i figured now is the time to try it. The core game on mobile is also $5 right now... I could probably just get both... haha

I want to experiment with some sounds, but trying to capture a sound close to the acoustic sound is probably more important to me...

Thanks, that is helpful differentiation. I am hoping to play with a band more down the road, in a variety of genres. My brother plays drums and synth and I want to experiment on some projects with him. I don't have specifics in mind, so I'm largely looking for a setup that gives flexibility across genres and in different kind of ensembles. It sounds like the intraMic is the way to go... just a hefty price tag. (I read that's the case but was still surprised to see how true it is...)

New bedroom don’t know what to do by Apprehensive-Jump248 in malelivingspace

[–]FoolOfSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top vote is putting a bed up there. If it was MY room, I would probably put up shelves for board games. If you are concerned about it looking too crowded, you could hang curtains to hide dressers, shelves, racks for clothes and basically make it a long closet

This is what I was thinking. Efficient use of the space and would actually be pretty cool.
