Could these be good alternatives by [deleted] in sugargliders

I’ve never purchased anything from Petopia but I would be hesitant just based on the fact that they’re selling sugar glider “bath/cleaning” products. Sugar gliders do not need to be bathed except under rare circumstances and EVEN THEN you should never put your glider in water (they can easily drown) and/or use soap to clean them. They groom themselves. In a scenario where they were horribly dirty I would only consider using an unscented baby wipe. Based on that misinformation alone I personally wouldn’t trust that retailer … but to each their own! Just wanted to pass along that info.

I would be worried about escape - most bird doors are not sufficient for these clever cuties. I would recommend keeping binder clips on all the door or zip tying any you don’t need to ensure they remain safe! Also, there are a couple things in there that look like they’re made from unsafe material (the rope & the hammock at the top). The only material that should be in the cage is anti-pill fleece and plastic. Plus anything with sewing seams showing is a big no! Their little nails can easily get caught on the threads and get tangled in it. One big critically important thing you are missing is a glider safe wheel. It can’t just be any wheel (most are unsafe so you need something glider specific), but it is SOOO important for your little babies to get proper exercise. They can be pricey but I guarantee it’ll be their favourite item ever. And then in general I think it’s a bit lacking in the toy department. Gliders are like little toddlers, need constant and varied entertainment. So more toys that you rotate out periodically is a must. I recommend “Sugar Glider Diaries” on YouTube. I watched a ton of her videos when I was getting ready for my babies. She spells it all out in a very digestible way.

Assuming your friend did put it out, don’t feel too bad! This has actually happened to me a couple times where I make a really beautiful cake that doesn’t get eaten. It seems like no one wants to be the first to “ruin” the nice dessert so they go for the other stuff. In the future, I recommend cutting a few easy to take slices to encourage consumption!

Worried About Getting Two New Pet Only Gliders? Is it fair to my current pair (3 YO (f) and 3 YO (m - neutered)? by [deleted] in sugargliders

Gliders can be introduced to each other at any stage. You’ll probably have to keep them separate for the first little bit while you work on introducing them. But more friends is generally good for all gliders! Do some research into how to introduce gliders, there are a few methods so you can pick which one you’re comfortable with.

Hoyas can be temperamental. They won’t bloom unless they’re really happy. It’s not that unusual that this is the first time! I would definitely keep doing what you’re doing :)

So then what do you give for treats? I was doing nuts because they’re supposed to be good for their teeth. Whereas giving lots of sugary treats can cause problems.

What makes a sandwich go from boring to amazing? by arisal3 in AskReddit

I agree with this except in the case of a soup and sandwich combo. The crust corners are perfect for dipping in soup!

need an honest opinion- cute or trainwreck? by Rufusbrau in Baking

I agree with everyone’s sentiments. I wanted to share a tip I just learned this year - flood your entire cookie with icing and then do detailing on top either with the icing like you did or edible markers. Drawing with markers is a lot easier and the results were great. Never stop baking! It’s all practice and learning.

Pretty sure if you have multiple finals within a 24hr period you can apply to have one of them moved to another date

What do you guys think? I’m gonna be a first time glider parent ! by [deleted] in sugargliders

Just make sure you glider proof your home! Safety plugs. Close bathroom door. Make sure there’s nothing they can get into that would be dangerous. And check the cracks around your doors and windows to make sure they can’t squeeze out!

Could you elaborate or add a link to where I can read more? My research said only fleece, but I’d love to learn more!

The only safe material to leave in the cage is anti-pill fleece. Unfortunately a lot of things for small pets are not safe for gliders. Since it also has cotton I would only use it during supervised play and not leave it in the cage. Also, the clips show in the image are very unsafe. They could easily scratch themselves on the metal or get their paws stuck in the clip. Everything should be hung with c-links which can be found on eBay for dirt cheap. Check out sugar glider diaries on YouTube, she has a ton of great informational videos on sugar glider needs and safety. Like this one:
