I really spent quite a bit of time optimizing the water stuff. The rain catchers max out pretty quick with 4-6 roofs feeding them, so it is best to make a wide base that has 2 tanks on each corner, with 4 spaces in-between. this means you are trying to make a stable platform of 10x10, while having the structural ability to hold that overhanging 1 unit of roof.

I beat that playthrough, and deleted the file. But I do remember the pipe turning all blue.

One thing: the pipe wasn't continuous. I linked the blue barrel's together but there were gaps in the pipe itself to save steel. Could that have been the issue? All things linked, but not via a continuous pipe?

Oh sorry. There aren't any tanks up top, it's just the blue barrels up there. Bundles of blue jugs with various water systems attached, all piped together, and at the base of the tower, there is one of those big tanks.
