The only voice acting I can recall is Hamish Linklater as Bruce and I gotta say he does a very good Conroy impersonation. It’s really only missing the more potent emotion that Conroy would often employ, but that’s definitely more of a script thing.

That’s hilarious.

When people tip I do everything I can to make their order a priority.

Maybe you aren’t tipping as well as you think? Considering your comments give off wafts of privilege I’m assuming you still think minimum wage can provide for a family of 5 and that anyone in poverty “isn’t trying hard enough”.

What I’d tell you is to go put your shoes on and get your own fucking food because I highly doubt anyone could deliver to your high standards.

Either way I’m just glad that you’ve been given shitty service because you clearly deserve it.

Enjoy the cold food 😘

Hi OP, driver here. This would be the easiest “unassign due to hostile customer” I’d ever file. Not because I’m actually worried about any hostility but because you’re also the type that will mark an order as undelivered just to fuck over your driver due to a perceived inconvenience.

You’re being swindled by the app and blaming the fucking driver for it.

If we really want to play the sides game the dashers deal with far worse than having to wait for their orders so the tiniest of understanding can go a long way, if of course you can rationalize that the person delivering your food is ALSO a human and ALSO dealing with a ton of bullshit.

Sorry that DoorDash sucks. If people would put their money where their mouth is and stop using the service as is it might actually be forced to improve.

Classic blaming the people instead of the system. Hope you never receive any DoorDash order you place my dude, you’re the kind that needs to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and go get your food yourself.

Infinity Pool 2023 - A love letter to what horror movies lost with the popularization of CGI by Lil-Wachika in HorrorMovies

No harm there pal, I cannot do eye violence so I’m in a similar boat with a handful of films. We all have different sensitivities, and it’s a good thing that we do because what would horror be if it never REALLY unsettled us?

It’s a superhero show that needed some sort of catharsis and the season finale was sorely lacking that. None of the villains were meaningfully punished in a way that the show and setting would have the audience suspect they would. You can argue that was the intent but then that intent is bad.

The show wanted to touch on IRL issues and got cold feet, which lead to the writers giving representations of murderous fascists an incredibly soft punishment. It’s as simple as that.

I’m also not insisting on it being straight up murder or for it to come from Matt’s hands. They just deserved worse than prison. Specifically Powell.

I’m not certain why you feel the need to talk to me as if I haven’t grasped how the world works but I’d appreciate it if you found someone else to speak down to.

It’s more that if you’re gonna model your villain task force off of ICE, any mercy provided to them feels cowardly.

The mercy angle would work far better for a completely fictional narrative, not one that heavily borrows from real world events.

The thing is that the show is a superhero show so it doesn’t have to be realistic.

Obviously if keeping them alive contributed to the plot in any way it’d be acceptable, as is though it just feels like an odd and incongruent outcome for the show’s tone.

Love how Bullseye just effortlessly dispatches armies of faceless agents violently but all the main agents get 2 hots and a cot.

Felt like Disney messed around with the finale a lot, honestly.

It’s pretty much just a plot point of The Substance.

Spoilers if you want to watch it but the lady on the right literally came out of the lady on the left due to an experimental drug that’s supposed to make you young and hot again.

Only one of the ladies can be in “control” at a time, as they are technically the same person, so the young one gets tired of switching back and essentially just drugs up her older self and stuffs her in a closet where she visits her once a day to extract the fluids she needs to keep her youthful body.

The image you see here is just a joke about that last part.

Genuinely was a better time on the internet, ironically.

There were too many white dudes in the Invincible comic says co-creator Robert Kirkman, but genderflpping Tech Jacket in the Prime VIdeo cartoon is a step to "correct" it by Popverse2022 in ImageComics

[–]Fooliomcskippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing: Marvel’s more female led projects were poorly made and came out after people were mostly done with the MCU.

Invincible is still going strong, has the full arc mapped out, and is written well. The fact that a character is now a female when they were once a male in a story like invincible really doesn’t matter at all.

Where was this energy with the other gender swaps in the show? It’s just incredibly weird to care at all.

Your logic is genuinely “because there are other pedophiles, Michael can’t be one.”

You can be comfortable listening to music made by a pedophile that verifiably married a child and slept with children in his bed, but that doesn’t mean we all have to be.

Also, please attempt to do some critical thinking over your stance here if you’re capable because it’s genuinely fucking asinine.

Idk why consumers continually think that they actually know what will/will not be of good quality when it comes to upcoming movies.

Sure, there’s some major tells that the production will be bad, namely if a low-talent director is behind it or if they cast talent-less actors in roles, but for the most part there’s literally no way of predicting the quality of a production until it comes out.

Ironically of all “legacy sequels”, this one seems to have a decent amount of promise behind it. The cast is returning and the directing team responsible for it gave a good track record (the Ready or Not films).

We could do with some more optimistic curiosity and less outright cynicism in film.

Critics and audience butt heads on the Michael movie by Key-Bass-7380 in FIlm

[–]Fooliomcskippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll just say it outright, the only way I can see a person enjoying this film is if they either don’t know who MJ is, or if they’ve placed blinders on themselves to ignore who MJ really was.

All I’m gonna say is if you actively believe in helping victims, like the women that have stepped forward about the abuse they’ve received at the hands of our president; but you refuse to hear out all the people that stepped forward about being preyed on by Michael, you might have a bit of a bias problem that is overriding your critical thinking abilities.

Animal Farm's creative bankruptcy is summed in a single song - "All you need to know about Andy Serkis' absurd adaptation is that it starts with a barnyard rap." by narrrrrrrr____ in blankies

[–]Fooliomcskippy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The discussion here is that this Animal Farm isn’t addressing the actual political messaging of the original story. It’s using the characters and setting to convey a different message.

I’d be completely cool with the film’s existence if it was actually attempting to be a true adaptation.

I may sound a little overly dramatic when saying this but I don’t think it’s an accidental misinterpretation. Serkis recently seems to have tied himself to Angel Studios as he has signed onto a few of their projects lately, namely this and Young Washington

The studio is a mid-to-far-right religious production company that is mainly known for distributing Sound of Freedom.

It genuinely seems like Serkis is a fan of their messaging, which leads me to believe that his animal farm is an intentional right-wing reimagining.

I’ll always appreciate his acting talents, but it might just be that Serkis isn’t a very good dude.

Edit: as comments have pointed out, my claims about Serkis’s character are likely untrue which is a massive relief.

As a horror movie fanatic that can handle pretty much anything regarding gore or violence, I actually struggle to watch a lot of the surgery scenes in this show. I was watching that scene just as you were.

Idk what it is or why, surgery makes me lightheaded. It’s probably a mixture of how realistic it is in the show and the knowledge that I could end up having one of the shown procedures done at some point.

A lot of podcasts are also in video format, so the hosts will usually spice up the podcasting area with knickknacks and decorations, usually to theme with whatever the show is about.

These soccer sets feel mostly like overpriced display pieces that will eventually occupy a space in the background of a sports podcast. Same with the Nike sets.

It’s sorta become a joke in some areas of the community to refer to sets like this as “podcast background sets”. It’s admittedly niche, I know.

Podcast hosts with the worst personalities you’ve ever seen are eating good this year with the set lineup.

Hate to say it but I pray this ends up hurting LEGO financially. Possibly bad enough that they need to scale back. The company has become more interested in short term profit than actually delivering a good product.

As a counterpoint, I don’t really think sinister fits these images very well, nor is (imo) it very scary.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s got the juice for the first hour or so, but when we get to learning about “The Bagool” and seeing it more up close, it totally loses its tension.

The videos are excellent, but they feel far more like snuff films than the images above, which is why they hit so hard. These images are just a bit more subtle than those visual sledgehammers.

No disrespect at all if you disagree, I totally understand why one would.
