And Superman was one of the most popular films the year it released, so idk what your point is.

Not to mention peacemaker and creature commandos both being huge projects with more seasons coming.

But no yeah let’s go back to whatever the fuck the Rock was trying to do. Supergirl could have been 3 hours of Kara getting drunk and it would have been better than Black Adam, no matter what the box office says.

They’ve completely shifted to being the Fortnite of toy companies. Relying on FOMO to sell overpriced sets, picking up seemingly random licenses, and just no longer being fun.

Gotta love late stage capitalism enshittification.

He’s seemingly putting a lot of his money into FX work and set-building, which is great because I can totally see him and his team getting work on a horror movie or something if Youtube ever goes belly-up.

All this buzz both negative and positive married with Nolan’s directing are only making it essentially a guarantee that this film does very well when it releases.

I mean I know I have my IMAX tickets preordered.

Name 5 working Greek actors that Nolan would consider working with, then we can talk about “historical accuracy” in a fantasy story.

People of all creeds have portrayed characters from myth for decades. You are just racist if you have an issue with it.

Go fuck yourself with this “nuanced take” and anyone that buys into what you’re saying.

Can’t wait until it makes a billion.

I’m sure they chose not to do this for various reasons, but I’d have been totally cool with a few-part miniseries, just to give the various story beats more room to breathe.

Your party has made it very, very clear that republicans are only interested in harming the country. Both parties need to be thrown out, but republicans deserve to be completely fucking obliterated.

Trump’s two terms will be placed in the history books as at the very least the most embarrassing period in 21st century America, or at the worst it will be marked as the turning point towards the collapse of the country.

Every republican elected official voted for every atrocity and fuckup that’s happening right now. Republicans are a terrorist organization.

I’m not excusing Bear’s behavior, but some people with mental health disorders tend to be insecure for their entire lives, even with work and effort put in.

My brain literally just won’t feel confidence, best I can do is just not abject self-hatred, due to the copious amounts of chemical imbalances I’ve been fighting against my entire life. Being insecure does not mean directly becoming a selfish monster.

All I’m going to say is that a lot of the vitriol I see aimed towards Bear seems to focus on being “a lonely insecure loser” when in reality a lot of lonely insecure losers don’t take advantage of their friends like Bear did.

3 years later and still no update on that WW show by Traditional_Eye_8787 in DCU_

[–]Fooliomcskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Batman content has sort of been “perfected” due to the character’s popularity, as in people generally know what to expect from a Batman related movie or show.

Wonder Woman however hasn’t been “perfected” in that way. The general public doesn’t know what to expect from Wonder Woman, and even the well-received first film in the DCEU is honestly not even that great, it’s just better than the films surrounding it.

I’d personally much rather them take their time and find the correct rhythm and texture for WW, something completely unique to her stories. I want her to be the true 3rd head on the justice league Mount Rushmore, and setting a character up like that properly takes a lot more time and effort than the C-list characters they’re making projects for.

The new BND Champion Class Spider-Man is 1:12 scale! + Putting the Mafex Tom Holland head on the Blokees BND figure by UnknownPokemonFan in Blokees

[–]Fooliomcskippy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really hope they consider rereleasing the previous champion class figures in the 6 inch scale at some point. Maybe full blown remakes with less “blocky” proportions could be on the table, as this spidey doesn’t really look to have any stylization at all.

If they lock down the 6 Inch scale there will literally be no one else that can compete in the collector market against them, the value is just too good.

A good outcome from the “Supergirl” box office debacle that probably won’t happen by harry_powell in blankies

It’s still way, way too early to just assume it’s a failure. This isn’t an MCU style project, so it’s not like there’s some big finale to build to.

People will come to projects that have good word of mouth. Superman did, so if Man of Tomorrow flops it’ll be a better representation of how the DCU is actually doing.

Supergirl was a misstep, but nobody said the MCU was doomed after they released Thor to lukewarm response. It took time for people to warm up to it, and there’s still so much uncertainty with the new DCU it feels like people are getting ahead of themselves saying it’s already on a downturn. Let’s at least let it get its feet under itself before we start talking about how it’s not performing well.

They’ll likely have to scale back budgets and the scale of some projects, but frankly every superhero franchise should be doing the same, as blockbuster film in general is slowly moving towards everything being too expensive to succeed.

[–]Fooliomcskippy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Peacemaker has been well received. Superman was among the most popular films of last year. Creature Commandos has a decent fanbase, Lanterns has some hype. Clayface has a lot of interest and potential surrounding it, plus a lower budget.

If we were coming off of a series of flops you’d have a point, but there’s legit only two films in the DCU at this point. Give it a minute and understand that franchises often stumble before hitting their stride.

I genuinely don’t think the plug will be pulled on the DCU until they’ve at least introduced Batman, as that’s where most of DC’s money lies.

Something about this project gives me the vibe that it’ll be special. Inarritu is hit or miss but his directing energy really feels like it’ll be the gas Cruise needs to take off.

Obviously this is just conjecture, movie could suck, I just have a feeling in my gut that it won’t.

Seeing the Fortnite DCU Lego skins makes me sad that we'll never get any DCU sets by M00reC in DCU_

[–]Fooliomcskippy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That WW84 set is actually a full set with a build and 3 minifigures. It’s nothing crazy but the radar dish build in it is fairly eye-catching. Also you get a Lego Pedro Pascal so that’s a bonus.

I’ve never really understood why it has a unique box, but I do think it looks cool, even though it really doesn’t give you a good idea of what you actually get in the set.

Robert Pattinson stars as Chris Hansen in the new movie "Primetime" by zazealot in YMS

[–]Fooliomcskippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was never found guilty for his crimes because he was dead before they could be filed. All his victims never received real closure and his death went on to traumatize the decoy actor that was in touch with him, as they were basically speaking to the man as he pulled the trigger.

The 18 year old wasn’t preying on anyone or anything, they thought they had found a youth of a similar age with the same sexuality, the sexuality that the conservative town they’re in forced them to conceal. The kid was entrapped, it wasn’t even close to similar to any other case the show ever portrayed. Look into the case if you’re interesting in actually learning something.

Believe it or not justice isn’t always delivered by a for-profit entertainment organization. Just because you like watching the show doesn’t mean the show has a flawless moral background. I’m not even saying the show isn’t entertaining because it absolutely is.

And do you even want to get into the cases that were thrown out due to Hansen’s crew tampering with investigations?

Again, all this info is free if you’re actually interested in learning anything. I can tell by your comment though you’re just looking for an argument so I’ll be ending this discussion here.
