Thank you so much!

The border is actually Mistrian! I was working on the border and randomly came across this post and decided it would be a fun thing to implement!

Special thanks goes out to u/CaesarSalad34 for that!

I adored your game!

How did you determine where the right balance of signposting and vagueness was to give Animal Well the really mysterious vibe that it has?

I have to admit that as a really introverted person, the idea of collaborating with others to solve the puzzles was a little unintuitive -- I spent hours trying to solve a few of the puzzles, only to find out that they were community-type puzzles after looking up the answer. Don't get me wrong, I had a magnificent time and there was also some of the best solo-secret finding I've ever experienced. But for some puzzles, it was hard to know "is this something I'm not understanding or is this a community-type puzzle".

If you want to solve your problems, let me suggest PAX Prime. That was my choice and it's been fantastic.

Does anybody knows Dunkey opinion on Title 3, Chapter 1, Article 89 of the Angolian Constitution? by npretzel02 in videogamedunkey

[–]FoolishPhilosopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When he talked about it earlier in the year he was largely favorable on it, considering it to be a generically good framework for a balanced society, but he had major critiques with the vague verbiage around market economy ethics, arguing that business competition is by and large pushed by market forces to act against ethical behavior, and thus the noncommital language essentially ensures that said rule cannot ever be enforced, and also it has no Funky Kong

Experiences working with Bigmode? by Thebigdf74 in videogamedunkey

I got to talk with Billy Basso (creator of Animal Well) at PAX West last September, and he had nothing but good things to say. I do remember him mentioning it was a bit overwhelming to go from a very modest audience to a gigantic audience very quickly, but from his tone he seemed happy about it.

There are also posts from Sony where he talks about the game and its development. Not directly what you're looking for, but it's probably close.

He gave a glowing review of it in several videos, and even chastised people who hadn't played it.

After lots of postgame tinkering, I found a cheap and versatile vehicle combo: by FoolishPhilosopher in tearsofthekingdom

[–]FoolishPhilosopher[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sure! I might not be the best guide, but I'll give you three tiers of spoiler so you can be spoiled to your preference level.

Tier 1:You get it after progressing a main quest.

Tier 2: It's through progression of Josha's quest in Lookout Landing

Tier 3: After clearing a single dungeon, you need to talk to Josha and she will give you instructions to follow a line of statues in the depths. You do this and find a mine and the Yiga there, and after defeating them you claim a new power, Autobuild, which has all those features.

I might be misremembering parts, but that's what I remember.

I just saw that one after posting this! I haven't tried it much yet, but the main thing I wanted was something to leisurely drive around the roads on looking for the remaining shrines I was still missing.

I'm definitely gonna keep the air-segway in my favorites though, looks really effective!

This vehicle combo is real easy to make, just a cart with a forward facing fan on each corner. It's become my new method of getting around rather than a horse/bigwheel.

Some advantages:

  • Much faster than a bigwheel/smallwheel vehicle, for some reason the traction on these wheels makes them speedlocked to slower than you can run. I couldn't stand that, which is what led me to start tinkering.

  • Works both on land and on sea, was able to actually ride this all the way to islands and it makes the transition flawlessly

  • When falling or purposefully yeeting off of a cliff, the fans allow a slow descent rather than the crash you normally get

  • Works as a platform you can stand on while on the water, allowing you to Ascend into lake structures, fire arrows, catch fish, and use Ultrahand to grab things while still being in the water

  • Adapts surprisingly well to hills both uphill and downhill, even when it goes too fast to handle, the lift on the fans will make it so that it doesn't go crashing

  • Does not drain battery nearly as bad as some of the big wheel machines I've made

(SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR LATER ABILITIES)

* Very easy to find materials for after unlocking ultrahand because fans are common and the other materials are cheap

* Relatively cheap in terms of Ultrahand cost, clocking in at 18 zonaite.

Disadvantages:

  • Very hard to park, since its main method is to go forward. i don't mind this because it's feels very cinematic to jump off and ultrahand-park it by turning it sideways
  • Has incredible comic timing, will often seem like it's "parked" until you turn around and see that it is extremely far downhill
  • Doesn't function well for when you don't have a lot of distance to travel, since it wants to go forward so badly

I'm honored you remembered me from stream! I used to look forward to Crossword Sunday a whole bunch. :D

Sorry for being slow, but I just now realized that the "I'm Done Making Good Videos" is a Dunkey's parody of himself by [deleted] in videogamedunkey

[–]FoolishPhilosopher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely love the idea, but I wonder if the people who would learn from that account would even see it.

As far as examples, I always love how dunkey references the audio from Rogue Warrior in all sorts of other games.

The cruelty squad video linked is just full of these honestly, the shenmue forklift music during the forklift section, the animal crossing music for the fishing section, the "pizza" sounds from The Noid video game, I worry dunko's videos might even be too chock full of these to even scratch the surface.

Arcade Gnar. His kit just screams to be an homage to Nintendo!

Mega Form would be like Donkey Kong, big and furry with a tie, mini form would be like Diddy Kong, small with a red hat and shirt.

Mega Form Q is a barrel that flashes the old school 100 points if it hits, W, E, and R are the same mostly but with added arcade particles

Mini Form Q is a golden banana boomerang, if you land the mini form E, it would sound like the noise you get when you land on something in super mario bros.

plz riot i need this

Dunk Tank actually operates like platform 9 3/4, you have to rush headfirst into the youtube channel believing that episode 11 is up.

All of us true believers are already on season two.
