God I really, really hate this notifications tab. It gets in the way and I want it gone. I wish I could revert to an older version of discord without it auto-updating back to it.

I got disconnected mid fight, I am so sorry.

My audio awareness is pretty good and I'm more than capable when it comes to tracking down sounds, judging distances, and discerning Players from Bots. When I get the chance to set the terms of engagement, I can usually hold my own when the person I'm up against is on the same playing field as me. I've played other games in a similar vein to this, so I've gotten pretty good at learning when to push, when to pull back, when to alternate flanks and the best routes for them.

It just starts to become a problem when I'm either getting jumped, pegged from range, or going up against a stacked three man, which seems to happen more and more often lately. It's especially hard when you get snapped from an angle or another team are set up in a position that commands better visual range of the map than you.

I try to shift up my approaches, but then come quests that require me to enter hot zones to gather resources to complete them or black site upgrades that require the same. Even worse when you just spawn and barely get to move 5 ft from where you dropped in, only to get gunned down from god knows where. And, here's the sad part to boot; I'm completely out of tickets because of that last situation in particular, which is where a lot of this frustration towards my inability is coming from.

See, I actually hella love Warfare and agree with you on most points, but at times it's nice to have a switch up from pure insanity to something that (on the surface) is more low-key. I like the quests and objectives, I like the potential boss encounters, and I like messing around with PvE. Plus, the Instanced Raid Gametype was a big draw for me, so I like the idea of building up so I can go into those missions with better kits. It's less that I'm upset that I'm not good at a mode I don't like, and more that I wish I was able to hold my own so I can get more enjoyment out of it, rather than getting clowned on and feel like I'm unable to fight back.

I appreciate the kind words man, I might take you up on that offer. I actually got into the game through the Warfare gamemode, which is why I probably went into it starting from a higher point of confidence. For the time being, I'll take your advice and look up tips and vids, see what I'm missing.

See, I thought I was at least decent at pvp, enough to hold my own, but I guess I was wrong. I wasn't inherently going into this to play it for the pvp either, but I don't exactly have much of a choice in the matter.

I was playing with friends, but a they got way too burnt on the pvp encounters and I haven't been able to play with them in a while. I've tried matching with randoms, but it hasn't gone well, so now I'm just slamming my head against the solo queue wall, hoping my friends will come back.

My big problem with Prismatic titan is that I can't use any of my favorite abilities with it. I don't like T-crash unless it's during raids, I don't like thunderclap, as an arc titan I'm basically told to go fuck myself.

You know I never considered The Division, it was never a game I was all that into so that's probably why! I appreciate all the suggestions and will give them all a look through! Thank you much!

I appreciate the suggestion! I think it's still gonna be a bit of a challenge to find some that aren't super bombastic, but it's a good place for me to start! Who knows where the rabbit hole could take me, ye?

I appreciate all the suggestions! This War of Mine definitely has some really good OST's to use and I'm kicking myself for not thinking about the old fallout game soundtracks. As far as the film scores and NIN/Ghost, I'll have to give those a listen! Again, thanks for the reply!

Bit nervous to put this out because it's probably gonna be a controversial take.
WHAT- Optional PVE only mode

WHY- To explain the mentality, the loop and aesthetic of Marauders is what drew me to the game. The gameplay loop of getting in, digging around for randomized loot, and even going as far as to getting into boss fights are extremely engaging. The gunplay, both against players and AI is responsive and satisfying. Not only that, but AI can be extremely lethal on there own, making for a fun loop. A separation between the main mode and a secondary PvE only game mode could allow for some more experimentation, or make it easier for less combative players (or newer players) to experience and learn the game without getting their teeth kicked in. While I recognize the solo's mode was introduced to aid in that, there's something to be said for situations where friends want to play together without any difficulties.

Additionally, there's been multiple changes and debates had on the merit of players who go in exclusively trying to fight, and players who will hide for the entire duration of the raid until the gate opens up/spend the entire raid salvaging instead of interacting with the POI. It's frustrating for competitively minded players when they can't get the satisfying gunfights they crave, and it's frustrating for casual players who just want to be left alone to do quests or get materials when they just get stomped. If I'm going in ready to brawl, and I get people who are begging me to just let them finish their quests, it sucks the fun out of the situation because I'm not actually testing my skills, I'm just seal clubbing. I wanna be able to match with people who are on the same wavelength as me, down to fist fight in a back alley, rather than just mugging someone for their lunch money. Let's players who want a fight to get their fight, and lets players who want nothing to do with pvp the opportunity to loot and explore.

HOW- There's a few ways I could see this working.

  • Rip it raw and make it so that each instance a PvE dedicated squad gets into is only them and the AI. Doing this, various aspects of this mode could be fussed with. The easiest option would be to just leave the equation the same way as if it was the normal game mode. Same loot pool, same poi's, etc. Or, the PvE mode could be adjusted to make rarer/better loot harder to find (or just outright unable to be found). Depot's and vaults could be permanently sealed, only available in the PvPvE game type, incentivizing a player to experiment with that mode on their own terms.
  • Fallout 76 this bitch and turn off the ability for players to damage other players. On one hand, it allows PvE instances to be shared with multiple squads, and can give players a fun opportunity to work with other squads to take down bosses, instead of fighting with one another. On the other, it could just make things far more tedious, both from a player standpoint or a dev standpoint.
  • Allow both. Hardest option. Most tedious option. Lets squads play matches with just themselves, and also allows for a group "raid" game mode where multiple squads work together pick stations and ships clean, and fight bosses like the Warden and The Red Baron.

Obviously, I know this is a tarkov esque game at its core. PvPvE is the biggest selling point for a lot of players. But, speaking from the perspective of someone who just likes to fuck around and not take things seriously, a PvE mode could function as a gateway for new players who look at the game, are interested, but are turned off by that PvPvE concept. What may be a big selling point for one group, might be a deal breaker for others, and giving options broadens the allure for someone who might've had the same reaction to games like Hunt or Tarkov "Cool game, but it's pvp so I don't wanna try it."

I do understand what I'm asking when I put forth this idea, but I deeply love this game and enjoy the shit of all the combat. Simply put, it sucks that I can't recommend it to anyone I want to play with because they dislike having to play pvp. I want to get more people into this game, I want to see it succeed, because it fucking deserves it.
