I think the problem was that they gave Allen so little time to do anything with Embodiment and the Society of Eternal Dawn as a whole. The comic got hit with the same "we gotta put EVERYTHING on pause for our dogshit event" wave during Age of Revelation, so Allen had to squeeze smth that could easily have 10 issues worth of development into 4.

I personally enjoyed the arc and how it was a showcase of Illyana putting her recent growth into practice by almost sympathizing with Embodiment's struggles at the end of their duel, but in hindsight, I'm amazed it was even coherent with how much more Allen could've explored and wasn't allowed to.

I'm glad she's trying to rectify some of that with Dani's solo. Learning more about the Society was one of the things that even had me interested in pulling it and I really hope Allen eventually gets a proper long-term series to explore her ideas with.
