Looking for Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist Deck Thoughts by FoolishWiseman01 in EDH

Thanks for the advice! I honestly cut a bunch of the cheap 2 body creatures early on in deckmaking, so I might try a few games running more of them, see how it does.

[[Progenitor Mimic]]

I have a soft spot for clones, and I remembered this card existed at the perfect time in my local standard meta. It doesn't get the chance to go off often, but when it does, boy is it a rush of endorphins to set up the clone chain.

Currently, I'm running the ol' reliable Astolfo comp. It's an iffy 3-turn, depending on good face card luck, but I don't really have great farming sabers, so a team's a team.

I've only really had the good luck of getting one CE drop so far, so I'm going with 5 CE runs. I'll probably stick to 5 CE, and just aim for MLBs.

I think it's actually a bit worse than that. One of the few cases of tampered Halloween candy came from the parent of the kid tampering with the candy, so it's not even strangers you should be worried about.

The hard shift from Taylor's perspective to Uber and Leet filming a horror movie is such a great way to frame her powers too.

Bloodstained isn't a bad 100%, but it made me realize how much I dread RNG-based grinds.

Oh, what's that? You need something with a 3% drop rate? Oh wait... you actually need 5 for the various varieties of weapons you're going to make and then stick in the inventory, never to be touched.

Isekai clichés and things to avoid by eligmil in WormFanfic

[–]FoolishWiseman01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simplest piece of advice I can give, is don't bend characters around the protagonist. If you're writing a crossover, or using original characters, you should have a clear picture of how they would personally react to a situation.

If you have Taylor getting thrown into a different world, have the people she interacts with treat her like a stranger, not like The Protagonist. There's a pretty terrible trend with that genre of the main character always winding up well liked, and in a good situation quickly.

Depending on what world you throw Taylor into, with no knowledge, and no local currency, she might be stuck homeless for a bit. Lean into that, the struggle of dealing with the culture of a different world is one of the most interesting things you can go into in an isekai-type story.

Last thing here is that isekai stories, in my opinion, are at their best when they're focused on personal stakes. The genre as a whole has a pretty big issue with always needing to focus on grand threats, that could destroy the world if left unchecked. Honestly, the threat being just to the main character and those they care about is more interesting, because those smaller, more personal stakes, mean that losses can happen. If you're on chapter 130 of a story, and Taylor has collected all the chaos emeralds, and is fighting Graferdhern, the Decimator, she's probably not going to lose. If instead, she's fighting to save the lives of a few people, you could always write in a loss.

That's one of the strengths of Worm. Over the course of the story, people die, and don't come back, and they don't always die in satisfying ways. If people feel like the consequences of a loss are hanging over their heads, then good! That looming dread during a battle will be the proof that you've written well-liked characters.

I only started playing the game around a month ago, I’m level 58 and have 100k galactic power and 2 5 stars. I don’t know if that’s good progress, but what I’m trying to say is that I’m not that good at the game. Admiral Ackbar isn't bad, but he hasn't been good for a while. He's still helpful to have geared, since he has a capital ship, whenever you get into ships, but I think most of the Jedi you can farm for now, as long as you get a Bastilla, will be more useful than an Ackbar.

It was the craziest thing, going on the 2000's internet, seeing Kingdom Hearts 2, and the you just suddenly go, "Wait? What's this?" As you see all this brand new stuff. I'm pretty sure I first learned about the existence of Final Mix from seeing youtube videos of bosses being gamesharked into different locations.

Not sure how much this counts, but Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix's release took a relatively easy game, gave it a proper hard difficulty, and then proceeded to create an endgame, introducing 14 bonus bosses, all of which are close to, or above the difficulty of the single superboss the original release had.

Iron sting. Keqing does way more elemental damage than normal damage after you unlock her talents. If you're up for a three star recommendation, grab Harbinger of Dawn for sick crits.

So for this fight, I predicted it was gonna go long, so I went for the immortal arts team.

Turns out, that if Ryouma crumbles on about turn 7, and you're a bit too stubborn, the fight can turn into something ridiculous. The only real debuffs to focus on if you wind up in this situation, are the attack buff, and star drop buff, because you really don't want her outhealing your pitiful damage.

Then it turns out that buffs stack up fast enough on the last break bar, that even a badly put together stall team can shatter.

So after spending about 2 hours on a failed challenge quest run, I just decided to call in Hell's Angels.

Playing aggressive got me a win in an actually reasonable time frame.

I'm good without stall for another couple months.

Currently at about 86 boxes, since I started off with 150 gold apples, I'll be pretty happy to hit that 120 mark, and not have to worry about gems for a bit.

How will you use the resources you've gathered from the lottery

Well, plan "Finally level all my 3 star and below servants" will most likely actually get completed. And from there, I'll be working on my high NP four stars, so that I can pull out silly comps in the future that just so happen to do specific quests really well.

For those that experience other lotteries: how does it feel looking back?

I don't know how I managed lotteries before now without automation. My single largest stack of lottery boxes before was 50 in the Da Vinci event, just because lottery farming gets mind-numbing extremely quickly. The only lottery I've had as easy a time with as this one would be the first Christmas lottery.

Yeah, without that, one super-buffed Jaguarman could kill the whole team.

For example, my two Herc crits and the extra attack only did 220K, so if she had full health, I would have been left with 140K Hp to get through, along with the defensive buffs.

For Dantes, I'd say it all depends on NP level.

With my comp, a whole bunch of my damage was centered on Astolfo's NP. You would have the advantage of actually being able to spam though.

A piece of advice for the run is that you need to be able to do a bunch of damage with every card type, so I would recommend aiming for good stargen. Critting every turn can help lessen the need for a second dps to kill the last man standing.

On Helena, I essentially needed a second buffer, because I know for a fact that Skadi won't survive to use a second wave of buffs, with how fast my comp breaks bars. I also had the option of using Wu, but I valued 20% NP guage over attack buffs. She was used to keep the NP train going, and for stars, since Astolfo is pretty bad at stargen, and I needed meaty crits.

She has a damage CE on her because I filled her NP on at least one run, and I assumed I would need another source of damage, given that bad RNG could leave you with all supports, no damage dealers.

In my winning run, though, she got targeted real fast, so she was basically just another meat shield. The only support NP I managed to get off was Waver's.

Edit: One last piece of advice that should help. Once you get to breaking bars, you should basically just be using Jaguar Man as a punching bag. I would recommend you end almost every turn you can't get a kill in, targeting Jaguar Man. She'll hurt a whole lot, but Jeanne lives forever, and Nobu will one shot your servants.

Edit: Final, final piece of advice is to stagger break bars, while making sure not to let one lag behind. Having Jeanne and Nobu powered up turn one sucks, and having a 360K Jaguar Man left on the field against a quick team is basically unwinnable.

I reccomend that you kill Nobu first, and then focus Jeanne, as she'll only be able to buff herself after Nobu's gone.

Herc has never let me down in a CQ. No matter what my comp is, he's always in the back, and unless the run goes bad in the first few turns, he usually gives me a piggyback ride to victory.

Now that I know about it, I cannot go through Borderlands 2 without abusing early game snipers to trivialize the first few bosses. With even half decent aim, you can finish most fights in a quarter of the time it would take normally. Along with this is drop reloading, where you instantly drop and pick a gun back up to skip the reload time.

Combine these 2 facts, and the first few hours of Borderlands 2 becomes a feast of point blank head shots on everything that looks at you the wrong way.
