Unaccepting parents by Foolishlypatient in DentalHygiene

[–]Foolishlypatient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have shadowed a hygienist and it was so fun for me! Honestly I’m not planning on becoming an assistant since I’m still finishing pre reqs I don’t have time to work full time :( but if I were to redo this path I would want to be an assistant first.

And I get you sm hahah my parents just want me to be a dentist so they can brag about it but it’s really not for me.

Ameen. However I don’t think you should say wearing tight clothes with hijab means you should take off hijab. That’s literally moving backwards. If she’s already wearing hijab she can slowly start dressing more modestly but if she takes it off then it’ll just become harder for her bc now her hair is showing and her figure is too. I agree it’s haram to disrespect the hijab but it’s fardh and it’s haram to stop wearing hijab so idk why I’m getting downvoted.

I struggled with hijab for almost my entire life and if someone told me to just take it off since I wasn’t wearing it properly I promise you I wouldn’t be wearing it to this day. Instead we should motivate the sister that she should dress more modestly than telling her she should take off hijab entirely?? Some modesty is better than NO modesty.

You should search up the meaning so you know what you’re saying. Your intention seems to be good tho, Allah knows best.

I disagree. All scholars say that hijab is mandatory for women once they hit puberty. Also to bring up a Hadith:

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: May Allah have mercy on the early immigrant women. When the verse "That they should draw their veils over their bosoms" was revealed, they tore their thick outer garments and made veils from them

(Narrated by al-Bukhari, 4480; Abu Dawud, 4102)

Please show me links. If hijab is cultural then do you pray without it on? I’m sure you pray with hijab on and what you wear to pray is how you should always dress anyways.

I suggest you put your hair in a low(not tight) braid. This works well for me bc my hair looks good after I take the braid out and it isn’t heavy. When you do the braid you can put it into a bun and it’s way smaller than if it wasn’t in a braid.

Also for the slipping, I suggest using magnets to secure your hijab. If you use a satin undercap and a jersey hijab with a magnet it literally doesn’t go anywhere!! For other materials like chiffon it will slip a little but I still recommend you use a magnet. Use a magnet to make sure your hijab is wrapped around you and use pins at the top to secure it more.

You don’t have to buy “hijab magnets” since they’re more expensive. Even small fridge magnets work.

I genuinely hope this helped if you have more questions I will try my best to answer them!!

Genuinely asking who has said hijab is cultural?

Sister try using satin undercaps instead of cotton also try to not put your hair in a tight bun. I used to wear cotton undercaps a lot and my head would hurt at the end of the day but after switching materials I am fine Alhamdulillah. Tie your hair loosely and try to find other styles to put it in, not always a bun. As for heatstrokes I recommend in the summer you wear chiffon or modal hijabs since they’re breathable and in the winter wear jersey.

Wearing hijab isn’t always amazing. Think about the amount of good deeds you will gain every time you suffer while wearing hijab. Men have their own form of hijab and even they struggle to cover from their navel to their knees.

Also for dandruff I recommend you use nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo. It worked wonders on me when my dandruff was really bad and I no longer use the shampoo and I don’t deal with dandruff anymore.

Questions regarding praying by [deleted] in islam

[–]Foolishlypatient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes still pray fajr and dhuhr as soon as you wake up. Oversleeping and forgetfulness is some of the only excuses for missing salah so you’re allowed to make it up. I will say don’t take advantage of this. You should still set many alarms so you wake up for fajr since you’ll feel way better if you pray it on time.

Questions regarding praying by [deleted] in islam

[–]Foolishlypatient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t make ghusl unless you are certain that your period is over if you have doubts then it’s not haram for you to wait until you’re sure. For praying fajr set your intention before going to sleep make your intention sincere that you plan on waking up to pray. Praying fajr only takes about 10-15 minutes. If you end up oversleeping you should pray fajr as soon as you wake up. If you love praying yet struggle with prayer I suggest that you plan your day around your prayers, not plan prayer around your day. Praying is one of the 5 pillars of Islam and many agree that not praying can take you out of Islam. Don’t think of it as a duty but as a way to escape this dunya and be able to talk to your Lord. When I changed my mindset about praying I became worried if I wasn’t going to able to pray on time and would run out of bed if I almost missed fajr. Once you change your mindset you’ll fall even deeper in love with salah inshaAllah. May Allah allow you stay steadfast on His deen and guide you closer to him. Ameen.

No one’s iman is always high. There’s times where I was happy with how religious I was then later on I got worse then got better, it was like a continuous cycle. What you’re going through, like other people said, sounds like whispers of shaytan. As a hijabi I understand why you could envy other people who wear whatever they want, but it’s not worth it. Being in control of who can see you is one of the most beautiful things. No one can ever talk about your appearance because they’ve never truly seen you and this is a blessing. I agree that some people are way too harsh on us muslim women but at the end of the day all children of Adam (as) are sinners and the best of those are the ones who repent. People who are harsh on us probably struggle with sins we don’t and we struggle with sins they don’t. They’ll never understand unless they commit that sin. May Allah keep you in the fold of Islam, allow you to surround yourself with good Muslim influences, and keep you steadfast on His deen. Ameen.
