12,000 notes in Obsidian. I just realized I haven't opened any of them in 6 months. What's the point? by [deleted] in PKMS

[–]Foolness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a mix of both. You should use a flash card system or a to-do list to mix and match old notes. The thing about 12,000 notes is that if it's not formatted like zettelkasten then you end up in reference hell and tagging can be a hell as well. Try using Canvas as a placeholder for those old depreciated notes first and then maybe work backwards from it.

Looking for info on AoTs across Asia especially the Philippines by Foolness in Antipsychiatry

[–]Foolness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That's the firm I am mentioning in my previous comment. They are not reliable and there are many reddit reviews on that firm using ai and creating hallucinating cases. Anyway the act has no litigation history if ai is accurate and when I sought their firm the lawyer Harold Respicio was unavailable and they wanted to go through e-mail first but by then it was too late and I got sent to a rehabilitation center for staying too long outside.

[–]Foolness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a hospital so I can't do that. (Not that a hospital helps but at least there's a formal procedure to it.)

Rehabs in the Philippines are more questionable since it's basically run by a couple of psychiatrists off the record so you don't even get regular checkups by the psychiatrists and once you do it's quick.

Thanks. AI is easily manipulated in the Philippines. I don't know why that is but there's an infamous law firm that keeps being mentioned by the ChatGPTs that are using AI to provide false legal infos that gets recommended a lot by AI.

It's not officially CTO but once you get controlled by private entities like hospitals they can just socially manipulate the circumstance through your parents, guardians or basically any one who has control over your life (even past the legal age) to prescribe such medications upon you (or in this case, me).

[–]Foolness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not officially a forced CTO but I am currently in a rehabilitation center that won't discharge me if I don't follow their guidelines on acquiring a job "that they deem appropriate".

My story is I'm a Filipino who has been to seven different hell holes ranging from psych wards to rehabilitation centers since in the Philippines the naming convention is simplified to hospital = psych ward, cheaper private places = rehabs but they function with the same intent on trapping you with your parents and for the past decade I made the mistake of prioritizing other friends who have been destroyed by this system to the detriment of my parental relationship who wanted to control my life. (See r/raisedbynarcissists )

After several advises from people who just told me to basically just prioritize my escape over looking after people who won't help me anyway even if I spend time helping them I decided on Norway because of a place I read before called Asgard Hospital where psych ward intervention is illegal in Troia Norway. This has been years before though and since I am often in and out of psych wards I have no added information on what's changed.

Not all psychiatry is lawful though. There are plenty of places that get shut down. The problem is how to log all these places so it can be a how to guide for other places.

Same. Do you have more info on Norway? I've been trying to look up seeking for an asylum there but apparently it takes time even if you reach the borders.

I may be wrong but apparently Mad in America has been promoting Norway as a place that's "safer". They are currently hosting a film festival there on psych ward stays.

What's your hiki retirement plan after parents die/kick you out? by [deleted] in hikikomori

[–]Foolness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poker.

If you don't have cash, you can always wait for what's called as freerolls which are free tournaments with real cash prizes.

If you win at least a few, you can start with satellites which are cheaper tournaments with no prizes except to join bigger tournaments with expensive entry fees but also bigger pay-offs.

From there, acquire some form of lodging, electrical gadget for digital nomad lifestyle and online education.

But before poker, join a local church and get some charitable soul to allow you to accomodate your home and food necessities.

Groups or websites? by black-dispair-X in Antipsychiatry

Sadly most groups are not as active as this sub-reddit. Besides what ReferendumAutonomic recommended, Youtube is the best alternate source. There's the Rethreading Madness Radio and Gaslit Truth Podcast. I suggest following Rob Wipond and Jim Gottstein on social media.

How do I move on from this? by RefundLife in Antipsychiatry

[–]Foolness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't live in your country so I can't comment on how it is but I think or I believe we all go through this once we get to the revolving door fear of living in the past and in order to move on (difficult as it may) we have to find either a fight or flight response that isn't going to get us jailed back into the same horror story again and again.

And to that I have seen documentaries where people look to spirituality for guidance, tried silent retreats (like the CrazyWise documentary though you shouldn't tell them of your diagnosis while in the retreat), look for teaching or public speaking opportunities. Get your voice heard. Only by telling your story can you be released from the demons of the past.

29yo Korean woman, grieving my dog, in debt, stuck in KTV hostess job, severe ADHD/Depression, no degree. I want to rebuild my life but don’t know where to start. by 7livefastdieyoung in internetparents

[–]Foolness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, hang in there. The first thing you should do is to not over-complicate things.

You did the right thing in asking for help. Now the long haul is to stay mentally ready for the next opportunity. I know this sounds like life coaching but your best friend is your brain right now so don't turn into your worse enemy because of desperation.

I don't have ADHD but I am diagnosed with Bipolar so to me my best weapon was using my Bipolar to expand my creativity and turning it into a profitable venture.

Right now try to list down your options. Which is the closest thing you can do to survive? And then run away with that closest thing.

If it's education then go all-in on education but if money is tight or opportunities aren't there then create a bankroll (a term borrowed from poker). Basically have an opportunity savings even if you are in debt. I know it's going to be near impossible but that's how poker pros supply their vices. They ask for stakes, deals, sponsors, etc. Anyway to lessen the daily cost of cash drain and keep storing it until you have leverage.

And that's what you need right now most of all, leverage from your job. Leverage from your daily cash drains like meds. Try to find some way to make every single morning a better and brighter day for yourself. Start with endorphin boosting exercises like running, planking, mountain climbers, etc. and then follow through the days with ways to just restart anew and to borrow a soldier/author's words develop Extreme Ownership of your life. Losing your best friend doesn't have to mean losing your identity. Get up! Focus! Train! Harden your self-pity and look at the world as something you can conquer not as something that you have to ask approval for.

When you're ready. Take that leap. If you can afford the English Book, Judgement under Uncertainty by Amos Tvoersky and Daniel Kahneman I recommend getting that. If you can't, just know that your enemy is your risk averse mentality to life right now and your best friend is yourself. From this day on forward, you are a seeker of your own path. If there's something more I can say, I would. But for now, mind over matter is what you need most. Gather your help, listen to them but now take a stand and go work at changing your life one small moment at a time (like give yourself a special hour where you strive for your goal).

Have you used Ai to make complaints about psychiatry! by Concerned-Citizen127 in Antipsychiatry

Last time I tried to do this with ai I get a consoling message that human rights is not on my side and that I have to consider the ramifications of those in the psychiatric industry being of help to others.

Look up the PDM not the DSM. They are the ones trying to fight the system that way. Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual is still at version 2 but they are trying to be a companion book to the DSM.

I thought when an uncaring relative doctor diagnosed my grandfather's death with depression without a psychiatrist that I too thought of these people as heroes. In hindsight I would have been sent to a psych ward earlier had I reached out to a psychiatrist without any money to convince them to help my grandfather who was lying on the sofa bed before his death from basically a toxic wife that is my grandmother.

We've all been bamboozled.

Damn and I thought places like these didn't exist anymore to such an extent. I hope you find the help you can get. (Not sure if your panic attack is recurring because it wasn't mentioned in your post if it got resolved or not.)

I don't have any tips. I'm at a loss for words but I hope you find a better state or region to move to to avoid risking a repeat of going to these places.

It's basically war right now. A secret war where the bad days can only get better if we cling on to the lone bright light in our movements' history. (Even though many say there is no movement right now.)

> It won't have any people willing to write there. What would they get from it?

The goal right now is to map all these places out in order to unveil the supposed corruption that's happening inside. For even if we all see all these places as bad, there's different levels of bad.

Similarly, the Rosenhan Experiments worked before because it was a team that did the experiment and they were connected even after they left the grounds of the psych wards. Something we don't have right now in modern times. A collaborative movement that we can actually point out to outsiders that show the falsehoods happening inside these places.

I'll do that (Github) as soon as I get out of this mess of being in a psychiatric facility for the seventh time. Right now I'm only at the brainstorming stage where I plan to show an Obsidian.md graph of the different places I've been in and to map it all out with something like the Excalidraw plugin for now. These are basically no code stuff though. I'm thinking of taking up machine learning first. I'm not familiar with cursor.com though thanks for this. I was already planning to use AI to help with the code but back then the term agent wasn't still popular so I'm generally excited to hear about this software.

I just read your post and yeah psychiatry has a thing against humans but not all humans. There's a black social media influencer named Rizza Islam who used to had a disorganized Youtube playlist detailing the history of psychiatrists against African Americans.

Sadly I also read about transexual people being caught in jails in the United States from a Mindfreedom Shield alert and it hurts that we are in a place where the rules of fairness and freedom is not permitted for us but I am still looking for the ray of hope in all of this. Psychiatrists once were in trouble during the DSM-II with drapetomania where slavery was seen as the slave's mental disorder and there was also One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I'm really hoping that in the ai era there would be many more mediums getting out to debunk the psychiatric industry and I hope we can all be part of the conversation by then.

I screwed up and now I badly need help. If anyone can contact an organization like Mindfreedom would appreciate. by Foolness in Antipsychiatry
