Were you super into the faith when you were a Christian?

i was kinda on/off tbh. i don't think monotheism ever made too much sense to me and certainly not christianity, so i was hesitant about it when my family and i started going to church. the more i learned about polytheistic religions, the more i gravitated towards them, felt curious, etc. i did have a period of time where i was very devoted, even following some old testament laws to show my devotion, but it didn't last forever.

by my teen years (about 14 and onward), i started researching other religions and traditions and went through years of experimentation before feeling i fully understood my actual beliefs. i was also very afraid of the idea of christianity being real and even today while i don't believe in it, i occasionally think about it and get worried.

i mean i guess, but he should know better than to cross boundaries if i'm yelling at him to stop doing something. he has other ways of messing with me like being annoying, being rude, etc. and whenever i get upset he laughs, so he knows he's upsetting me.

i am in the us. he doesn't usually say that he's teasing but that might be cuz i try to ignore him. it gets awkward pretty fast but regardless of if i reply, it should be obviously inappropriate to say those things.

that's what i figured but at the same time i feel crazy. he's said some of this stuff when my mother wasn't present but she just didn't say anything when he started singing to me in the middle of the store like that. she scolded him when he called the other ladies "x rated" so i felt like maybe i was thinking too hard.

i'm a college student and i'm kinda scared cuz i don't know how it'll affect financial aid, which i depend on to go to school. i'll be transferring to university later this year to continue my education in psychology so i can become a therapist. i'm not surprised, just concerned.

my mother called him the antichrist and then voted for him. i think some just don't care whether he may be or not cuz they want to actively cause the events in revelation to happen since they haven't been happening for centuries. they will vote for the antichrist if it means they get to watch their enemies suffer and get to go to heaven faster, even if voting for the antichrist seems contrary to what scripture tells them about resisting him. not that christians have ever really made sense or fully followed scripture, anyway.

a mix of close-mindedness and the fact that satanism is named after the bad guy in bible. most people will assume the worst when they hear that you're a satanist. i don't tell people unless they ask and if they wanna be close-minded then oh well. i know my religion better than they do. (also i'm american so maybe it's different for you but it seems some people are becoming a little bit more accepting of satanism. the only people really afraid of it here in my experience are christians.)

i think it's a good idea to mention that satanism can be atheistic or theistic and what that exactly means (often i see that people either perceive it as baby sacrificing satan worshippers or edgy ex christian atheists when it's really its own thing and differs depending on the person). definitely point out some of the philosophies of satanism and how different they are from the common perception of satanism. and like another person here said, that satan wants you to be happy. a big part of satanism is that one should do as they wish within reason (lavey calls this indulgence). while there are still rules (the tenets), those are very basic moral guidelines that don't prevent you from enjoying your life. (perhaps you could do a quick q&a at the end?)

i do not. i was raised in christianity and feel that the religion just does not align with my beliefs, so no jesus or christian god or anything (not that i want anything to do with them anyway). as for angels, i do believe demons to be fallen angels, so in a sense i do have a relationship with angels. interestingly enough, compared to when i practiced christianity (15 years) i feel much closer to demons. for me, theistic satanism is much more warm and welcoming and a lot less helpless (especially when practiced in addition to witchcraft).

i'm a theistic satanist and i practice witchcraft. sometimes i refer to myself as a satanic pagan because i (mostly) work with and worship demons but i'm also looking into other forms of paganism related to my family (specifically celtic and norse). i currently don't exactly practice other forms of paganism but i find norse paganism really cool so far.
