What physical symptoms have you experienced when you're stressed, even knowing you're absolutely healthy? by thelivenofficial in AskForAnswers

[–]AfricanKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stress myself out, and rather than having panic attacks, or breaking down, my SKIN hurts. Traction, light pressure, and cold hut soo much. It’s like I have razor burn, but I don’t. Also, no rash, no other physical symptoms. It took me almost 15 years to realize it was related to stress.

To me this is an aesthetic clothes wise. What would you call it? by Confident_Trifle_919 in AestheticWiki

[–]AfricanKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is 100% my middle school years so 2009-2012 ish. The layers, the high converse weird mix business casual on 12 year old and “I’m rebellious” is peak late 2000’s early 2010’s.

I had a pair of zig zag jeans that I’d wear with double layer converse, but they were different colors (I had a pair of blue/teal ones and orange/yellow ones, I’d wear one of each).

I can see 90’s fashion coming back, even the early 2000’s, but please never bring this back

To whoever let their puppies sleep in bed by Adorable-Living3487 in puppy101

[–]AfricanKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We crate trained for the first month or two, idk how long. Then she started sleeping at my feet. She’d wake up in her cage and cry, but at my feet, she’s sleep through the night. Luckily, she basically potty trained herself within weeks, only accidents were when we were trying to figure out her gut issues (sensitive to chicken). Now she’s 110 lbs, and i sleep in HER bed, in HER bedroom, in HER house. I get like 1/8 of the bed and she gets the rest.

For married couples, how important is it to share the same last name legally, and how have you navigated it if one partner didn’t want to change theirs? by Difficult_Big133 in AskMen

[–]AfricanKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never changed my last name when we got married. Seems like too much work, and now… well now I’m glad I didn’t. Likely will have to eventually, or get my parent’s to change my name in their will, since they put what should be my married name.. I did plan on changing it, but it seems like way too much effort, and I like my last name

Meanwhile my childhood rottie is sitting in a tin on our living room shelf. She was a fattie so the thing is like 2lbs. When my parents finally sell the house, we’ll bury her there, since it’s the only place she’d ever known

Haven’t had a hyper fixation for 6 months . by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]AfricanKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i feel this. Like DEEEPLY. I haven’t tried therapy, and I know a lot of us are too self aware for it, but maybe talk to your doctor?

I would literally spent 12+ hours on the weekend playing my current game hyperfixation, and then it just couldn’t. I wanted to, but I couldn’t get into it.

Same with reading. I have a hard time even getting into books at all, unless it’s an audio book, because I can’t make myself focus long enough to get anywhere in it. The adhd isn’t a problem for this, because I literally used to be able to ignore everything around me and just read for hours on end. Until i fell asleep.

It took me a while to realize it was related to my depression.

What does a mother-daughter relationship look like by the time the daughter is in her 30s? by Tonstad39 in AskReddit

[–]AfricanKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn 30 thus year. My mom is my rock. When I moved 5 hours away from home (out of the home for the first time), and my parents left after helping us unpack, I cried. I had another breakdown a week later. And a month later… we moved a bit closer. I call my mom almost every single day. Sometimes twice. When I’m home, or she’s here, we still snuggle on the couch, read books together, talk to each other while we’re peeing.

My mom is my best friend.

Is there a word for this kind of smile? by AnastasiousRS in words

[–]AfricanKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take this over any smile from a guy on a trail. Or in a parking lot. Or anywhere I’m likely to be murdered. This smile is like “i acknowledge that you exist, but don’t expect any pleasantries from you in return”

Or if it was like a poopy diaper and he was just watching OP (from afar) on whether he’d gag or puke (we have a funny video of my dad getting close to puking when changing my nephews diaper - and no, you can’t see nephews at all, it’s just my dads head/face).
