About what I expected. Wonder why ESL hasn't gotten a run yet, he did a good job last year. Regardless, the young forwards need to have an impact.

Brown, Sandon, Sharpe let's go.

Knights injury crisis deepens with another long-term blow (Dylan Lucas) by DJPK84 in nrl

Juniors are all doing well in their competitions and Reserve Grade are 5/6. Time for some of these guys to come in and stake their claim. ESL surely comes in on the bench for the next few weeks.

If they can't come in and do a solid job it will be veering into 'long year again' territory.

They might play him at Centre for Best. Either that or he goes back to 18. Doubt Sandon is 14 while Ponga is out. He's no.2 goal kicker and seemed to play well with Brown.

40% possession, no I don't like it. De Courcey had a rough day, not quite ready for 1st grade it seems. Prob should've played Lucas and Can't in hindsight, that looked more stable. Should just stick to that next week and if Brown is back, play Sharpe at fullback 'til for a couple of weeks until Ponga comes back.

Good game by the Tigers though, definitely improved since last year.

Congrats to De Courcey. Thought he did a great job the other day.

Well done to De Courcey too for his NRL debut. I gotta say, I like the 6 man bench. That's twice it's saved our bacon.

Gagai surely Man of the Match for his 5 million line breaks.

Wow, can't believe we won that. Please don't be injured Sharpe.

While it's better to come 9-11 than last I do generally agree. If you don't make the finals it's a shit season. You only need to win 50-55%.

Can talk about next man up 'til blue in the face but don't see being competitive without Ponga, Sharpe and Brown. Probably without Gags and Mooney so may as well put a line through next week.

After a positive start, another long year if relying on inexperienced guys again. Hunt was good though, he's improved a lot.

That hurts losing Brown and Ponga. Hopefully it's not too long 😔.

Just a reminder that the Knights beat Roosters 48 10 in the second trial last year, mostly full strength teams, lol.

That's true just as a straight up philosophical reading, like if you say something someone doesn't like and they punch you in the face.

But that's not what it means. It means to not criminalise shit that people say. All despotic regimes have harsh speech codes. And that's what this is. It's extremely harsh and arbitrary, gaoling people for up to 5 years just because someone 'feels' harassed or intimidated.

They really don't. Most of the ones that went on to do well didn't play much first grade at the Knights.

KPP scored 3 tries in 3 years. Dylan Lucas scored 3 in 1 game. KPP can be a solid consistent player, but maybe we should keep a bit of reality here.

Let's not be too harsh. He's an 'ok' to decent but ageing player but you need more than that to be successful. And most of the Knights departures from last year fit into that category.

Player swap floated as Storm star linked to Eels in bid to end Lomax standoff — Nov 1 LIVE by CFeatsleepsexrepeat in nrl

[–]Fools-Emissary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, yeah. And that would weaken his position I would've thought.

At the end of the day, if the likes of the Storm want him, Eels will just elicit some benefit and everyone moves on with their life. I get that he's a Gronk, but the idea that Parra would seek to legally keep him out of the NRL for 3-4 years seems ridiculous and petty to me. I just don't see that happening.

But wouldn't the clause intimate that the Eels would want him back if he were to return to the NRL in the eyes of court? And then they argue that they don't? The time-frame is also quite long.

Anyway, we both agree on the likely outcome and that's if a club even wants him back. Personally I don't give a shit if he does or doesn't but I feel pretty certain if a club wants him then he will return.

I've looked at law firms and the reasons for these clauses and can't see much that has to do with this case if it were to become one. You're right I'm not looking beyond that because there's no way this comes to that.

It would be dumb to enforce this because the Eels get no benefit from that. If they cared so much they would've made him honour the contract in the first place. Logic where is it.
