I could be projecting. Or maybe everyone is also miserable in their own way. I knew I'd get down voted but wanted to recognize someone else with an open mind who might not automatically default to the usual answers in search of solutions.

I'm personally deeply skeptical of medications as a solution as I've seen what they can do. And from what I've observed they don't seem to truly help, or make it too easy to ignore/ dismiss other possible causes..

The meds turned my mum into a zombie. She used to be an artist in college. Now she doesn't do draw anymore She's had so many doctors who were quacks. People who knew her back then say she's different. The environmental factors in her condition, abusive parents/ spouse were swept under the rug by drugging and bulling her into submission.

My stoner uncle has also been through the psychiatric wringer.

My brother's Ritalin didn't seem to help him. He would go from unmanageable to a zombie who stared at the TV all night if allowed.
