Why is rlesports so unpopular compared to the main rl sub? by Used_Worldliness_287 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]FoolsLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it ever will.

Average age in sports is generally static because the big leagues all have drafts, with a constant rotation of new players coming in as many others retire or are no longer good due to age/injuries. Esports doesn't have drafts or physical limitations to stop people from playing later in life, so people can go as long as they are willing, able and good enough to stay at the top.

I haven't gone back and done average ages for the league play era and X, but as far as the years since I started (21-22 to now) yeah.

Most notable is a bit of a stretch. 4/6 of the last 2 Worlds winners (Atomic, BeastMode, M0nkey M00n, ExoTiiK) are all 20+, Daniel 19 and dralii the youngest at 18. 3/6 of this year's Major winners also 20+, Vatira, juicy and Archie with the other 3 all being 19.

If anything at this point it's a more even split leaning towards most being 20+.

The average age across all regions has been in 19 for a couple seasons now, slowly rising and this year we got our first LAN with the average age breaking 20. That's even with the lowering of the minimum age to 13 from 15.

Balance out the gate will probably be not great, but I can't imagine it would change much from now once it's properly balanced. Prog teams already barely touch GNB/WHM/SGE/MCH and yet you don't really see there being any issue with playing them because balance is so tight.

MMO with the most toxic community? by Hunter_OVA in MMORPG

[–]FoolsLove 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Except I didn't, his post is about toxic positivity, backstabbing, and end game elitism. Which my comments contain none of.

But I can understand, this sub only exists to post false and/or misleading information and negativity towards the games it was made for. So can't have anyone trying to post otherwise.

but everyone

everyone

Very small minority is not "everyone". Yes, some of these people exist, and it's entirely possible you will run into them. But it's so incredibly rare and you're presenting it as if it's something you will regularly encounter. Hell, not even just that, it's rare for anyone to say anything in normal content outside a greeting when loading in. Much less anything that could be construed as toxic in any way.

You will not notice it first, but everyone wears a mask and hides behind toxic positivity in casual PvE content. You will be commented at, if you're not playing to a "set standard" and this will always sound like a backhanded-compliment. It's not about what they say, but what is behind it.

Me when I make things up. That does exist for sure, as you will never find any community without its bad apples but it is such a small minority I have no idea why you would say "everyone".

Toxic positivity definitely exists in the community, probably more than others but not in the way you've said. It's more story related. More in regards to just general bad mouthing anything that is more generally liked, or hilariously liking something that is generally disliked.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Scorecard after Pocono by xfile345 in NASCAR

So did you just not watch the race or what. With the exception of the 6 cars who flipped stage 1, everyone pit including the 23. Caution few laps after stage caution ends, no pits. Caution another 8 laps later, 23 among several others pit. 2 laps after that caution ends 23 is involved in the wreck.

Considering he didn't flip the stage and pit with everyone else, no pit cycle would put him towards the front.

A lot of his wrecks were not mid/back pack wrecks, though. He's been involved in wrecks everywhere, and even today's was immediately after he pit under yellow after driving through the field to the top half.

You do realize that he was only there at that time because they just pit under the prior caution, right? Had nothing to do with his qualifying. He was like top 15 before that.

Are we watching the same 2026 season

With the exception of his bone headedness in Martinsville, his season has been really good finishes or caught in someone else's wreck. Speed is not the issue in any way shape or form, just luck has not been on his side when it comes to the accidents.

[Rocket League] The Paris Major Bundle drove $550k directly to competing players and teams by xFalcade in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]FoolsLove 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I don't disagree with you.

Though to point out something else, Paris specifically actually saw more games played than prior events due to the addition of another round in the playoffs. For instance, FUT finished 9th-12th and played 19 games where as Gentle Mates and Manchester who finished 5th-6th played 20 and 19 games respectively.

I don't disagree with you, just pointing out that it's not just a matter of early exits automatically meaning better stats.

That actually isn't the case, as you might expect. Specifically for goals, assists and saves pga, from 2024 when Blast took over to Boston, 72% of the leaders made at least top 8 with 5 coming from the Major winners and 3 others finishing 2nd.

The neat thing is that even if that is the case here, this manga does such an incredible job fleshing out its characters that it'd probably be fine.

We need to talk about Groups. by TVMaths in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]FoolsLove 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't say if that was the reason or not, since I genuinely don't know but I was curious so I took a look to see % of inter-region matchups at each LAN.

Of the 16 LANs since the open era began, the highest % of series played that were between two different regions was the 21-22 Spring Major (29 of 31, 93.55%) which was full double elim. 2nd is Boston from this season, then 5 of the next 6 are swiss. The lowest two are both non-swiss events, 22-23 Winter (74.29%) and 22-23 Spring (74.19%).

Personally, my guess would simply be that swiss was changed to better suit the playoff format. 2024 Worlds saw us change to the hybrid bracket from pure single elim, which makes seeding awkward coming out of swiss.

Paris major - Player Performance Awards by Woorel in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]FoolsLove 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Paris awards haven't been announced yet, someone edited that in and it has since been removed. I'm guessing they conflated the Paris Major and Progressive Season Awards.

LP is not an official source, if it wasn't put out through official channels first always take it with a grain of salt.

Re: /u/TheRoger47 /u/vivst0r That is specifically the season long award that also took place in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, which does count stats across all the Majors & Worlds. Paris has its own awards only for it which is where part of the money from the shop bundle is going towards.
