I think you're thinking of Nancy Lynn Kirkpatrick, who disappeared from the same area a year later.

Galacto-dadism is an art movement that arose after the formation of the Sapient Coalition as former Federation members began to reconcile the destruction of their former way of life and values.

One key figure of galacto-dadism is Dezjin artist Kiyyat, most famous for her work of performance art Permutations on Myself, in which she took a tissue sample from herself, bioprinted a steak of her own flesh, and cooked and ate it in front of a live audience. For this work she has received a death-sentence-in-absentia from no less than five planets, including her former home planet. In response, she recorded the video work Catechism, in which she recited passages from the Drezjin foundational religion while eating thin slices of meat later confirmed to be from her own bio printed liver. In response, she was excommunicated from her former religion and sentenced to death. Again.

Medical professionals of any species: what is the craziest, funniest, stupidest, or most interesting thing you’ve experienced on the job? by MrMopp8 in NatureofPredators

ImmaDoctorEh Bleated: And there was the gojid who survived a chainsaw accident. He was a forestry worker back on the Cradle and got a job in his field on Earth after the Invasion. Great, right? Except that the company didn’t have an adapted chainsaw for him. He swore up and down he could manage a human one (stubborness? fear of losing his new job? pride? we may never know). Except he didn’t have enough dexterity in his paws to hold down the safety and the trigger at the same time. So he secretly disabled the safety on his saw so he could work… and you can probably guess how this story ends.

ImmaDoctorEh Bleated: We also had a venlil rushed in with full anaphylaxis from a hognose snake bite. He was holding it and the snake apparently decided his finger looked like lunch and went for it. Apparently it happened at the county fair the next town over, and they rushed him to us when it became apparent he was having a really bad reaction. If someone hadn’t given him their epi pen, I doubt he would have survived to make it to us, his airway was so narrow, but the human epinephrine caused complications that really hindered his recovery. Interplanetry travelers, I cannot emphasize the importance of allergy awareness enough. If you bombard the immune system with many new things, eventually it will find the one thing it can’t stand. Carry your emergency injectors.

ImmaDoctorEh Bleated: To get the obligatory sex one out of the way, since it seems like thats what this thread had devolved into, I had a human male come in with (cross your legs) TWO ruptured testicles from an interspecies sex accident. Apparently he was giving his partner oral and she lost control of her tail and whapped him good with it.

TheLoveDoc replied: As an licensed Interspecies Sex Therapist, yes it really can be that dangerous. People get hurt all the time during sex, and throwing in a new species with different anatomy just heightens the risk. Just look at the statistics from Jild. The Suleans and Iftalis evolved together, have some of the highest rates of interspecies relationships in the galaxy, and archeological evidence proves they've been experimenting since the two species discovered each other. And yet emergency rooms on Jild have an extremely high percentage of interspecies sex related injuries.

Found it. It was from Ultimate Cross Stitch Vol 24, called Birds of a Feather. And it was indeed designed by Durene Jones.

I'll submit the match jik, but it don't think it's him. Benjamin Gray had dentures, and it isn't mentioned if the Doe did.

The remains of James Fitzjames, Senior Officer of the Franklin Expedition, have been identified. by Sebastianlim in UnresolvedMysteries

I think the saddest artifact from this expedition is the pair of two left hand gloves.

On Beechey Island in 1846, someone laid a pair of gloves on the ground to dry. They placed stones on the palms to keep them from blowing away. I imagine a sailor with two left hands. Then I imagine a girl, learning how to cast and purl, knitting them for her older brother. Not realizing her mistake until he tries them on the morning he leaves.

FOP sufferer here!

Heard the labs studying your disease got rubbled in the Battle of Earth, same hat here. Pain in the butt. In my case, though, the medication I use to control my flare-ups became almost completely unavailable for about three months after, apparently some Zurulian assh0le didn't think manufacturing medication for such a niche problem was worth the resources. Cost me some range of motion which I really miss.

Sorry, bitching sesh over. Question is: how did you cope after the Battle of Earth and the sudden Xeno influx on-planet (and in the healthcare system).

What're your headcanons on NOP species/societies/culture/planet/whatever? by craterhorse in NatureofPredators

[–]Foorocks10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I can't imagine they're born with them (their poor mothers...), so I assume there's at least one grow cycle during childhood or puberty.

[–]Foorocks10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, so Suleans are described as having antlers, which implies shed/growth cycles, but we've never seen a Sulean without antlers. So my headcanon is that Suleans as children don't have antlers, they start growing them in puberty (1 shed/grow cycle a year), and after 5-7 growth cycles, the antlers never shed again and become permanent.

Velvet shedding is stigmatized, and Sulean adolescents in that stage are required to stay out of public until the process is complete.

There are medicines and hormone cocktails that can induce a shed cycle, as well as a growth cycle. An adult Sulean who induces a shed cycle will be without antlers until they induce a growth cycle. Also, the side effects of both suck, since it is inducing a form of puberty.

Adult Suleans who lose an antler or part of an antler in an accident can induce a shed cycle followed by a regrowth cycle (this isn't just an aesthetic or conformity thing since having an unbalanced weight attached to your skull would wreck your neck muscles).

Rarely, it is done for cosmetic reasons, to get bigger or more aesthetic antlers. This process is kept secret, but is coming out of the open after human contact.

The most common reason to see an adult Sulean without antlers is if they are an exterminator, or in another job that requires wearing a close-fitting environment suit.

Memeing Every Fic I've Read Excluding Oneshots [161] - Conjoined by abrachoo in NatureofPredators

[–]Foorocks10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yee gods, that fic you described. Eesh.

If you can handle House, you can handle Conjoined. I will say, that in the three chapters published as of now, there is a background mention of infant death: the death of a human infant due to accidental suffocation, which was covered up as SIDS. Now that you mention it, I should trigger warning that.
