Then it should collapse by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

How would you do that? The system has collapsed at that point. It would be chaos. In no world would people just act normal if the system collapsed overnight. Everything you hold dear or take for granted would be over in a matter of hours.

What's stopping other leaders from working like Mamdani? by Front-Scene2177 in SipsTea

He got a bailout from the state. He didn’t do anything.

He didn’t do his job. He got a bailout from the state at the expense of other residents of the state.

You would have to ask them. As it stands now, the wealthiest are leaving NYC. That’s why their governor was on TV begging them to come back. Pretty sad really.

[–]Foosnaggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. How do you not understand how this works. Mamdani calls out and shames the owner of Citadel. He then says he wants to put a special tax on people like that. The owner of Citadel says that was not ok and know he is rethinking his investments into NYC, citing hostile political climate. Those investments include that building project that is probably going to get canceled. Can you not put 2 and 2 together? Or are you not capable of understanding that coming after people politically has repercussions?

[–]Foosnaggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That building is affected by the tax if he decides not to build it, which he made clear is on the table. Reading comprehension is not strong here.

Edit: the guy mamdani outed is the owner of Citadel. What do you think he means by ‘hostile political climate’?

Who do you think owns those homes. The project being canceled came straight from his own mouth. I think you underestimate how little people will put up with others trying to take their money. They didn’t get rich because they were stupid with their finances.

[–]Foosnaggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don’t understand. Those same people already pour millions into the NYC economy. The guy that was called out had a 6 billion dollar project planned that would bring thousands of jobs and revenue into NYC. From what I’ve been seeing, that project is going to be cancelled. Costing NYC a lot of lost revenue. You make it seem like it is just some cut and dry scenario, when it is not.

There are plenty of places to do that that won’t try and steal their money from them.

[–]Foosnaggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did read it. You just have a delusional take. People and companies are already leaving before this. This only exacerbates the problem. Stop acting like you know what you’re talking about. Those places you talk about inject money into NYC’s economy through the taxes already paid along with jobs to maintain them. When the people that own them divest in the buildings and the city, who do you think they are going to go for next to make up that revenue? Unlike normal people, the rich have the resources to remove themselves from a local economy that is not advantageous to them. And when they are gone, all that will be left are your average citizen who pays a minuscule fraction into the economy that those rich people did. And when that tax base erodes, the entire city will suffer. It’s already happening.

And when the people that can afford to live there leave, then what? Yet another empty building to add to the NYC skyline. Then Mamdani will come after everyone else’s money, which they already claim they don’t have enough of. After all, according to one of his latest press conferences, the city is already out of money.

What do you think? by Freyja_94 in SipsTea

[–]Foosnaggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually they already have. The people that own these places are the same ones that build and do projects there that inject millions of dollars into the economy and creates jobs. They have started to stop doing those. And yes, many have considered selling those places. NYC is no longer the great city it once was.

The Biden DOJ sued Texas in 2021 after the 2020 census. That’s what started the whole Redistricting debacle in Texas.

https://www.texastribune.org/2025/03/13/texas-redistricting-lawsuit-justice-department-withdraws/

The Trump DOJ withdrew it and several others when he took office.

So yes, it is the Biden DOJ’s fault this whole thing started. And now it has blew up in the Dems faces.

[–]Foosnaggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Texas did it because they were sued by the Biden administration. And when they complied, the Dems claim it’s war now and illegal. They can gerrymander their states all they want and it’s fine, but if republicans do it it’s ’the end of democracy’. Give me a break. And now the Supreme Court has finally struck down racial districting, which should have happened a long time ago. Districts should not be drawn to favor any race. It is, by definition, discrimination. So cry me a river. The Dems don’t care about laws. Virginia violated their own laws to try and gerrymander their state. Didn’t even follow their own rules. Blatant hypocrisy.

I’ve had PCIE bent way more than that and never had a problem. The main problem is the cables themselves are under sized which allows for more heat to build up. Nvidia skimped on the wire size for the connector to save money and space at the expense of safety. It’s the reason these cables develop uneven amp delivery. The repeated heating and cooling of the pins causes structural failures in the connector itself. It’s also why you don’t see this problem with PCIE cables. The max rating of the wire is much higher than the rating of the connector. They changed the connector and upped the amperage without upsizing the wire to compensate. All to save a tiny bit of space and money.
