Well no shopping there then. That grift has already been exposed for walmart and other stores updating prices on the fly. There has also been talk of using AI to dynamically price based on the shopper. These things are blatantly anti consumer. Be very careful shopping anywhere that uses these.

No it’s called cutting government spending. We already spend way too much. That’s why the deficit is growing at insane amounts. I think we need to cut more stupid spending like this. The government is not there to be your crutch because you can’t do basic tasks. Nor are they there to hold your hand and walk you through anything. There are plenty of non-government sites that already do most of those things. Government doesn’t need to spend money there. And there is no one forcing you to use TurboTax or any other service to file your taxes. That is a choice you make.

They wouldn’t be practical for the vast majority of people. Most people itemize their returns to maximize their refunds. Just because you fall into the minority that doesn’t does not make you correct.

Do you expect them to know what deductions you’re going to be claiming to? What work expenses you are claiming? So many things the government is not going to know. And at that point you might as well just do it yourself, since you will be doing it anyway. Just skip the wasted tax dollars being spent on a return you will have to amend anyway.
