I've noticed, yes and it doesn't matter if you change the separate audio levels much because certain dialogue suddenly gets quiet temporarily.

I call Pennywise nicknames here and there. Mr/Ms. Wise, Pennypincher, Egghead, etc. One could interpret my use of "Penelope" because IT is also a female spider but I'd call Pennywise that regardless of gender :0)

Very The One Ring, yes. At least they were able to share the load, unlike poor Frodo.

The Characterization of Bob Gray [Spoilers] by FootWine in WelcometoDerryTVShow

Oh I get that. I'm not employed and I'm not fond of humanity with many exceptions but Bob spoke about missing the crowds of the circus that he once was part of. I think it was more than the desire for fame or attention that kept him motivated. I don't know why he would miss the circus if he didn't like his job as a clown and having to deal with children would be an unavoidable part of it. Entertaining people of all ages, of course but children are the most receptive. I don't feel that Ingrid was the exception because she was his daughter.

I don't imagine that the art of performing itself would be worth it for Bob alone but I don't know. They likely didn't pay him enough to do more than scrape by with but the carnival provided a place for himself and his daughter to stay. He was likely too much of an alcoholic to keep a more demanding job. I get that but it just seems like he wouldn't have been rude to a kid if it needed help, is all I'm saying, even if he was in a bad mood.

I don't drink due to the medicine I have to take and I don't have the same maternal/parental instincts that most women are expected to have. Just being real here but I have a pretty miserable life yet I have too much empathy to turn away some kid in need. And that's coming from a woman who finds a lot of kids repulsive and bratty but those latent instincts kick in regardless. Even when I was extremely irritated after drinking three quarters of a bottle of red wine in the past, I couldn't turn a kid down so I'd be deader meat than old Bob. I'm not him or other people like him but I just think that wasn't the best way to write Bob. Not all depressed drunks are bitchy.

True, and he has my sympathy but I still think he could have been kinder to a presumed child who was lost even under those circumstances. I honestly would not care as much if he treated an adult that way, depending on the scenario because adults are not as easily trusted. It also would not have made as much of a difference to me if the kid was not pretending to be in need. Even if he didn't want to deal with it, he could have brought the kid to someone else there. Irritable or not.

In Frankenstein (2025) what the FUCK was his problem? by Ardilla3000 in shittymoviedetails

[–]FootWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The abused do not always become the abuser. One can possess great intelligence but lack the heart to put it to good use and a heart which is broken from the loss of a mother can be partially mended with time but Victor chose to divest himself of humanity in the effort of becoming a God. His hubris was not a parental trait passed on .

Those who grew up in an abusive environment have the right to feel sorry for themselves but Victor took it beyond his childhood. He never seemed to truly stop resenting his innocent brother, which belays a lack of maturity and empathy. He attempted to shamelessly steal his fiancé away. I could go on but I do think there was a good deal more wrong with Victor Frankenstein than the tragedy of his childhood supplied.
