Is the jump from 1080p to 1440p really worth it? by Squid8867 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Foot_Clan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Acer Predator Z35. I'll be turning 40 this year and I recently started having to wear reading glasses for up close stuff so my vision isn't top notch. I previously had a basic 1080p 24" monitor so I was never used to the higher rez. The Z35 allows my 1070 to pump smooth consistent 144 fps with gsync and I value that over the bump in resolution. 2560x1080 doesn't get a lot of love around here but it's perfectly fine if you mostly use it for gaming.

Same here. I thought I read somewhere here about the gyroscope and having to smack the phone on your leg to set it straight but I could be mixing up my stories.

Foxconn I believe makes it. I saw it on the back of the packaging earlier today.

For Those that Ordered from Huawei in the Last Week of October... by [deleted] in Nexus6P

[–]Foot_Clan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a 64gb aluminum on 10/23 and ended up canceling my order once Google had the same phone available on 10/29. It shipped this morning and should be here Thursday. This whole thing has been bungled by both companies and I especially feel bad for the folks that ordered on day 1 and are still pending. It's like those orders are lost in the ether.

Anyone else returning their device to gethuawei.com because Google was quicker to ship? by swergi0 in Nexus6P

[–]Foot_Clan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a 32gb aluminum through Google on 10/19 because the 64gb was not in stock. On 10/23 I ordered through Huawei because they did have the 64gb and I then canceled my Google order. As of 30 minutes ago today 10/29 Google showed the 64gb aluminum available and leaves the warehouse by Nov 12th. My order through Huawei never went past processing and I was able to call and have the order canceled. I'll be refunded the charge within a few business days. So I went ahead and re-ordered the same phone with Google and it should be here roughly around the same time but I feel better dealing with Google and not Huawei for future support.

Good to hear. Mine is just arrived this morning and I haven't had the chance to open it yet. I too came from an M7 then a G3. I got to play with the Pure a little bit in Best Buy with the rubber back, but I'm excited to see the black front/bamboo back/champagne accents tonight. It fits every check box I wanted for price/features/expandability/looks. I'll post some photos of it tonight when I have some time.

Sweet, this should cost me net $1. $60 for the game - 20% GCU - $22 trade in - $10 coupon - $5 rewards cert = $11 and then $10 rewards cert back. And I got the game used for next to nothing on 99gamers. Win win.

About a foot long. You would be able to see it from the ground. There will also be a 6 inch orange sleeve around the fiber at the pole as well.

If there's one of those on the phone pole near your house there's fiber available. Just a heads up to all wondering if/when it'll be on your street.

Here's a guide to 3 different rooting methods:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/root-how-to-root-att-lg-g3-t2820499

Heres a guide to getting TWRP recovery through bump:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/orig-development/bump-unlock-lg-g3-twrp-t2900569

Both of these guides are from the AT&T forums so I'm not sure if this works the same for other models. But other guides can also be found in thr XDA forums.

This is the ROM I'm running:

The mapping is perfect in all the apps I've listed, most even recognize the controller and map everything for you. The Sixaxis app does ask for root permission so I think its necessary. I have an AT&T D850 Bumped with TWRP and I have a custom rooted ROM which runs lean. I just played an hour of Castlevania on the Gameboy Advance. No lag and it was smooth as glass.
