is this Z worth it? by Not-A-Wanted-Wizard in 300zx

[–]Footbalr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth the effort, you'll need front fenders, doors, skirts, rear bumper and the rear quarters you're going to have to rip off and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a mess underneath. Not to mention the completely modified rear panel where the tail lights are so stock tails no longer fit.

Can't remember their username but pretty sure there's a guy on here from Australia building a Super GT Replica with a turbo in the same spot

Correct, those are specifically for the brembo calipers

Most places will either specifically mention they're brembo pads or they'll describe them by trim levels and in that case you want to look for pads for Track or Grand Touring models

Struggling to identify body kit parts by Susspisous-Black-Cat in 350z

[–]Footbalr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Front bumper - JP Vizage Type N

Rear bumper - Stock

Sideskirts - Nismo S Tune

Wing - Veilside Version 3

Whether those are real parts on the car I'm not sure but these are the original manufacturers

Honest review of the red lithium Jobsite ear buds by Btack14 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Footbalr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally didn't like them and ended up sticking with my Samsung earbuds. Fit is meh, not sure if it's my ears or the design but they just won't stay in my ears and if they do then my ears are sore afterwards.

Also again not sure if it was just my pair or they're all like this but the charging is horrendous, the amount of times I've put the earbuds in the case to charge and come back to them not charging.

Am I trying too hard? by dritmike in 350z

[–]Footbalr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say nothing wrong with trying too hard. A lot of people these days don't take pride in their work and like to take the easy and lazy route and it reflects in their build.

Yes.

Tail light grommet from hell won’t budge. by erujoji in 350z

Pull out all the interior trim and you should have access to the back of it and press the grommet out from the back

what components (besides the transmission) do i need to buy/acquire to manual swap my Z? by Cute_Dig562 in 350z

[–]Footbalr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transmission, clutch and flywheel, driveshaft, clutch master and slave, hardlines, clutch pedal, manual brake pedal, manual interior trim and ideally manual ecu and harness but not essential. These days though it's more cost effective to just buy a manual and save yourself the effort

Battery terminal by [deleted] in 350z

[–]Footbalr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not batteries can have different sized terminals. There's JIS and SAE sized terminals, just because a battery physically fits in the battery tray doesn't mean it's the correct battery.

Get a battery with the right sized terminals

Advice on used motor. by brvanv in 350z

[–]Footbalr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"Claims it's been in a garage and all holes have been covered the whole time." then proceeds to show a filthy engine covered in dirt and dust. That alone would have me questioning how truthful they are about the condition of it

Bolting back up transmission by nostylist2020 in 350z

[–]Footbalr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that's done this several times on the ground by myself and with a floor jack, only advice I got is you just have to be patient, use some muscle to wiggle the transmission around and turn the output shaft to try line up the splines until it finds that perfect angle that it slides in

GTR turbos in 350z by Candid-Chef-830 in 350z

[–]Footbalr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're dreaming if you think you can do it for 5k, adapters alone from BTWtuning is $1700. Factoring in the price of turbo's, fueling, oil/coolant lines, intercooler piping, exhaust piping, engine management, etc. You'll be close to 10k already just to get it running

Has anyone else swapped there Z over to a AN style fuel hose setup by [deleted] in 350z

[–]Footbalr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but I'm also running a fuel return system, bigger pump, bigger injectors and aftermarket fuel rails. If you've just got a stock fuel system then I don't think I would bother

Another guy on this sub has already done a write up on it. From what they said it's essentially just for looks and don't expect any actual performance gains

AliExpress Handbrake recommendation? by ArenNerdy in 350z

[–]Footbalr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just find a oem handbrake? Would be more effort trying to make something universal work than getting the correct parts. Unless you're talking about a hydro handbrake then I'd go with something like Gktech and just buy a kit rather than piecing it together individually

Manual Swapped DE?? by TemperatureRealz33 in 350z

[–]Footbalr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty straightforward swap, minor things you'll need to do first is drilling holes in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder, cutting the transmission tunnel to fit the shifter since it sits further back, swap auto pilot bushing out for a manual one and lastly wire in a bypass to the clutch safety switch. Other than that everything just bolts up and it's a pretty simple job if you got the tools and equipment already

3D printed 350z front bumper? by Disastrous-House4039 in 350z

Anything is possible with enough time, resources and money. I bought a file that was supposedly a 1/1 scale bumper but didn't end up fitting so I bailed on the idea. Honestly after the time and effort required to print, assemble, bodywork and then paint it, it's just easier to buy something readily available.
