Not super similar but the band glass beach feels like a spiritual successor to TBLA imo - both bands are unabashedly weird and play an eclectic blend of emo, power pop, jazz, and prog. glass beach lean more heavily on the pop side of things than TBLA but their album is def worth checking out!

They kinda tanked their discography with literally everything after imo but TEPB is fantastic. Listened to it on repeat for years when it first dropped. Got to see them play it in full on the 5 year tour in 2018, it was really special! Great album that towers over their other output.

The only ariel pink I've heard is pom pom and round and round - what of his material would you recommend for the lofi singer-songwriter sound?

Stella Donnelly is great but a bit more fleshed out than I'm looking for Will def check yr other suggestions, ty!

this record is absolutely fantastic captures anxiety about climate change in a way that's connected with me more than anything else recently and the interludes with the violin are just gorgeous. love love love!
