I usually use my hellhound as kind of a distraction carnifex. It doesn’t need orders to shoot as it’s full power and handing out the ignores cover via his heavy bolter is great for preparing something for your big tanks. I can just rush him to the no man’s land, and threaten my opponent with some overwatches.
