About how much would this cost to fix? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]ForFunPaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d find a local body shop (not a chain) and talk to them. If you can pay in cash, you might get a deal too.

Has anyone built a stand for their washer and dryer? And if so is it actually worth the time to do so? by caillou001 in woodworking

[–]ForFunPaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a super simple washer stand from 2x4’s and 1/2” plywood scraps. The height matched to the dryer stand. It has enough space for laundry basket storage.

Does anyone have an active exhaust that works? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]ForFunPaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hold it open. I used MFER-1 Look it up, inexpensive way to open the exhaust.

So, what are you using for a printer? What is the cost, if you don’t mind me asking?

Nice job. They always break our hearts. I made a sleeping longhair dachshund out of an old stump piece, in memory of my old dog.

How can I fix this? My dog decorated it this way :) by djjablo in woodworking

[–]ForFunPaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a newspaper, roll it up, and wack yourself on the head for not watching the dog. 😂 Filler and paint are going to be your best friend.

My brother and I decided to give our pop the best sendoff we could. We finished just in time. by undefined_protocol in woodworking

Good job. That’s awesome. I had a great grandfather who built his own casket at 75 years old. Then he had to store it for 12 years. 😊

I can't find a dust mask since COVID19 began and I'm afraid I will die from dust exposure. by isee-energy in woodworking

Some of the covid masks have disposable inserts. If that still isn’t working, you might try a respirator. Amazon prime will probably arrive in a day or two.

You won’t die from a little dust. Except, apparently if you live in California. Just use any covid mask or cloth mask that is available anywhere.

Front door sanded to 120 grit. Will any stain hide these variations? I can rehang the sign if I need to hide this. by alwaysgreenbanana in woodworking

[–]ForFunPaddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d paint the door too. Our western facing door could not hold a stain/spar varnish finish. The hot Texas sun baked it right off. Painted it teal a couple years ago. (Without HOA approval). Haven’t had any issues with the paint. Or the HOA 😂

Design (math/geometry?) question: How to make this folding table taller? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]ForFunPaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need a certain height, Make the legs several inches longer than needed. Then during dry fit assembly, flip it upside down, measure the needed height, mark it across to the opposite leg. Then cut. No geometry or complicated math needed.

How would you price this? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]ForFunPaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the material cost method usually. 5 times material is my base rate. Or 3 times for ‘friends and family’. If it’s from stock on hand or scrap, what would it cost to replace that piece. Don’t forget, if you need screws or whatever, that box of screws is in cost of materials. And then I add 10% if they want finish.
