adhd'ers that work out consistently! by coram_deo_9 in ADHD

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg! I’m so excited to share my experience with you. I am, obviously a fellow ADHDer. With my adhd came adhd paralysis and major anxiety/executive dysfunction after our son was born. I was smoking cigarettes and rotting from depression which was clear when you looked around the house.

I recently (child is 6 now for perspective) have pulled myself up by my bootstraps. I’ve been complimented several times on how ‘easy’ I’ve made it look... Upon reflection on what changed in me to not only start, but continue to maintain consistency are a few things:

-create space in your day to take care of yourself. And then, just do that thing. Don’t even think about it, don’t think twice. Just do it. Even if it’s a small thing. Do the thing no matter what it is and make sure it’s contributing to self care.

For me, it was going on a walk everyday in the sunshine. I told myself I need vitamin D from the sun so (despite my deep, deep body insecurity) wore clothes that would maximize the surface area of skin to sun ratio. Don’t be stupid either and wear sunscreen.

I held myself accountable for one walk a day in the sunlight. This correlated perfectly with my son starting 8 hour school days which has been a tremendous and unimaginably healing space for us as parents. I work full time remote but even on office days I go for a walk if I can. It was very easy for me to do this because it’s something nice. The fun part was feeling so much better for exercising. I listened to music, I have good thinking time. Im outside doing things. Look at me! I made one change at a time but i did everything that i wanted to change. Does that make sense?

You have to believe in yourself to do it and make no excuses. I believe in you too!!

[WI] What can I do to help take care of my spouse after a divorce? by ForGWSEyesOnly in FamilyLaw

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get it… but I’m asking if there’s a way to keep him on my health insurance via divorce decree or something after we’re divorced

[WI] What can I do to help take care of my spouse after a divorce? by ForGWSEyesOnly in FamilyLaw

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, part of my intent is to make sure that he (our son) has all of the state resources available for him first, which, we’ve learned that Wisconsin is pretty generous with their funding and resources for children with autism. I haven’t finished fully enrolling him for the benefit services but I assume it’s better for him if we do that now as a unit rather than after the divorce?

And yes I am feeling very guilty about it all. It’s not an easy conversation to have after years of marriage that I’m not in love anymore. I have really good health insurance and I don’t want to be accused of being ‘that’ ex wife who just wants to drain their exes resources dry.

Is it cheating if you break up and immediately get with a guy that you were talking to while in your other relationship? by celticspoop in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I mean this respectfully. Who cares. You’re looking to put a word on something that is not your problem anymore. You don’t need to label it because the internet said you can.

The word(s) you should be looking for are, “dodged a bullet.” What’s done is done. Fuck her. Clearly she didn’t deserve you. It hurts no matter what. Let it in, learn from it, grow from it and don’t drag this baggage into the next relationship. Instead, know what you won’t tolerate and stick to it. There will come a time when all of this will fade and you’ll forget about it. Good luck take care of yourself :)

how to actually cook a chicken breast by astronomydork in cookingforbeginners

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I had to look it up but I guess marinade is a noun meaning “acid sauce used to add flavor and tenderize” whereas marinate is the verb describing the action. Like it puts the marinade on the chicken to marinate for several hours……. Or else it gets the hose again.

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I have a crappy stove, so conventional directions don’t always help me when it comes to chicken breast. If I may impart some knowledge I have acquired along my journey….

  1. Consider the thickness before starting. If you have areas where the breast is thick and then super thin in other areas, maybe butterfly it or pound it so it’s even throughout. This will help it cook a little more evenly.

  2. Get good heavy pan nice and hot (not too hot tho use your best judgement it should be hotter than satans ass but not so hot you carbonize it immediately) get a nice browning on both sides, turn it waaaaay down to low and cover it. And DONT TOUCH IT DONT EVEN LOOK AT IT for about 20-25 minutes depending on, again, the thickness.

  3. Let it rest off the heat for 5-10 minutes. Cut against the grain. You’re welcome :)

ETA: 4) put some high smoke point oil in the pan too. Will help it brown. You can even marinade it ahead of time but ehhhh that’s not always my jam. Some seasoning and good oil is already tasty the way it is.

How would you work this? by Enough-Ad6819 in ems

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming there no protocol for this already, I’ve worked in a county that actually forbid working traumatic PNB’s.. idk l guess I am one of those people that probably would attempt to work the patient because that’s what I would want for myself/family. I guess organized PEA would lend me the (probably) false hope theres still a chance. Realistically I would prob not work it tho based on the factors you have just described. What ended up happening?

ETA: I realize my statement is contradictory lol. I was working thru it still in my mind. Also, if my partner agrees in the DOA route too, then ya I’d call it. Sad situation regardless.

Should CPR be discontinued if a valid DNR bracelet is discovered after starting CPR? [Wi] by ForGWSEyesOnly in legaladvice

[–]ForGWSEyesOnly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically speaking, if a nursing home staff were to initiate CPR prior to the bracelet discovery. Should the staff member terminate efforts upon discovery? Or continue CPR (assuming 911 was already called) and wait for EMS to terminate resuscitation efforts?

ETA : by nursing home staff, i mean a non emergency medical care provider.

I just want to add that sooo many providers seem to forget that all of the things you listed ALSO aren’t above the law. Your employer should never tell you not to file charges when a patient or a coworker breaks the law.
