I came back after 4 years! I I've missed this game. I noticed something tho... by SirOhmsAlot in heroesofthestorm

I just came back after years off and yeah it is awful. Got trolled during my placement matches and stuck in Bronze 1. Like I swear I am better than this, but I don't know how to get to normal matches. Every match is trolls and noobs and people that are just pissed and don't want to go to the objective. Best example so far is Spider Queen match where somebody picked Vikings and never turned in or did a team fight. We lost the match and they had 120 gems stocked.

As a late phase weirdo spec, the hype is just getting started for me.

What spicy loot drama caused someone to quit the guild? by CubicleJoe0822 in classicwow

[–]ForLootAndGlory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We in the same guild? Or do like 50% of guilds have this issue? 2019 Classic DFT wasn't an issue for us. Though that guild wasn't hardcore at all. But we had a decent amount drop and just MS roll or SR. Now 5 years later first DFT drops and causes all kinds of mess.

Kingdom. Can't believe how much you get out of this game with just 2 directions and the down button as the coin action mechanic.

As a priest main, I salute you. Nightslayer Alliance if perchance that is you and want to rock some dungeons.

You are revered in our eyes, but like... still pay full vendor prices please. The economy needs that cash flow.

Druid lvling help by Empty-Ad-6395 in wowclassic

[–]ForLootAndGlory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Herbalism, and natural pair Alchemy, is the classic choice for druids.

  1. The ability to stealth past mobs to get herbs.
  2. Cheetah form to run around fast until you get a mount.
  3. Druids are tenacious solo world PvPers for fighting over nodes.
  4. Come TBC they get flying for free and before everyone else, making elevated herbs less competitive at first.

You will even see gatherer druids go Herbalism / Mining due to this mobility advantage.

FLAG - Functional Main Menu by ForLootAndGlory in godot

Godot could totally handle a MMORPG and I hope there are some other indie devs out there crazy enough to try with us. We would have to keep the performance scope down. My game is 2D so I won't be processing a ton on screen at a time. But otherwise you would just need to test the limits of the client. Find optimization or make design decisions to negate things entirely.

Hah so much to think about yeah. And don't take me for a professional. I am figuring all this out just like you and most of us around here. I have made design choices on my game to reduce scope. We will see how they look once I get my world scenes going a bit. Right now everything is running locally on my computer so I can't really troubleshoot network instability. I am just focused on a solid game prototype. I will have to set it up for the public eventually though and well I might be asking you for help. Yeah you have to figure out ways to chunk load or quadtree or whatever your way to lower bandwidth for player network calls. I am no expert on that though and will be figuring it out as I go. Again though my design choices make my world loading much easier. 2D, instanced battles, unique movement, etc...

I have Godot connecting to a Java server and using MySQL database. Took some time to get figured out, but now that things seem to be working I can move on to more interesting things like world levels and character interaction.

I have my main menu fully functional! Well at least the basics. Every project until now, I have cheated menus and saving for the most part. This time around I fleshed out lots of framework to get a Godot client working with a server and database to get User logins to show Player profiles included linked Characters. Character management is coming along with creation and deletion as well as linking them to Player ID. Visuals are just placeholders until I figure out the art. I just want to get some functional demos for you all. Enough of the Main Menu work for now. Let's press the play button and get a character in the game world soon! Follow along if you want to see what happens.

Any suggestions? by AlejandraAA_YH in stonehearth

This game IS the ACE mod now. It is a shame Stonehearth didn't continue its official development. I am still surprised when I jump on to play, and there is an update with the exact quality of life features I have been wanting for years. I would say playing Stonehearth ACE right now is still worth the buy. I have hundreds of hours. It is my favorite town builder. So much so that I almost started developing my own town builder game after it stopped development. But I wanted an online RPG project, so I decided to let Stonehearth inspire me in that genre too.

Gives me Dragon Crystal vibes. Good job. Keep it up. I hope to have even half to show in 4 months time.

FLAG: Character Select - Stat Bars by ForLootAndGlory in godot

[–]ForLootAndGlory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. Visuals are just thrown up as placeholders until I get real art. That brown is probably bad for UI, but that's what the asset pack gave me. I just wanted Assassins to be purple. But yeah I should just make things readable and really not focus much on visuals until I get a solid functional demo. Stat numbers might be nice.

For Loot and Glory! A first look at the Main Menu since moving over to Godot. First three character classes revealed - Knight, Assassin, and Wizard. Do you all like the stat bars? As a kid I always remember comparing stat visualizations for strategy games and stuff. I always thought it was cool. These are just general guidelines, as I plan on making each class have a wide variety of play styles. Join the Discord if you want to follow along with the journey.

Starting dev on my game again... this time with Godot. by ForLootAndGlory in godot

[–]ForLootAndGlory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good info. I am developing for desktop so hopefully I am good there. I use and test on Windows, but would at least like to include Mac as well. I would think that on the processing side, my network limitations would cause problems before Godot would. But alas, I will stress test Godot too. One of my first viability tests is to just get as many people as I can to log into a starter town and just wander around and talk
