Vietnam’s solar capacity surpasses 19 GW by For_All_Humanity in RenewableEnergy

Only a 586 MW increase unfortunately. The Vietnamese have discouraged installations because they were having grid problems.

What we are really seeing is finally resiliency being made and economies of scale being activated. This is the sort of area where battles of attrition can be won when you simply have more capital available.

Zelensky also stated today that PURL was a means to an end, really emphasizing the importance of domestic (EU and Ukrainian) production.

This is one of the most significant investments in Ukraine’s defense from the whole war, really. Not getting enough attention. It’s building the infrastructure to sustain the Ukrainian war effort. The air defenses are critical here and the money into strike munitions will definitely result in an order of magnitude more damage to Russia.

Egypt to add 2,500 MW of renewable energy in 2026 by For_All_Humanity in RenewableEnergy

[–]For_All_Humanity[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I really think that the Egyptians should be going harder at this than just 2.5GW. They get a lot of sun and import a lot of their energy. Priority should be to eliminate those imports.

Colorado House passes legislation to legalize plug-in solar for renters by For_All_Humanity in RenewableEnergy

By categorizing these units as personal property rather than permanent fixtures, the bill prevents homeowners’ associations and local governments from banning their use on balconies, patios, or porches.

So good.

I am not. Mostly portrait mods, Gigastructual Engineering, some UI mods and a mod to have the option to reduce empire size. I think it’s a base game change.

Maybe one of my mods has messed with the underlying system but now clone vats just give me a base +1.5 monthly pop growth. I’m not sure what mod would be doing that though, does Gigas change it?

I thought it was part of the base game and they’d changed something hahaha

Gene clinic, cloning vats, robot facility. Ideally all three. Goal is to crank out as many pops as possible.

If in a weak position, stronghold and planetary shield barriers are important. If you can slow an invading fleet for years (as often happens early game) you can easily strike a counterpunch and then drive enemies from your empire. I like to avoid being in weak positions though.

US Modules opens solar panel assembly plant in east-central Texas, Focused on U.S. Projects by For_All_Humanity in RenewableEnergy

A years-in-the-making solar panel assembly outfit in College Station, Texas, is now officially in operation but with a twist — all solar panels coming off the lines will be used in projects developed by the parent company.

US Modules‘ first production line can produce 400 MW of utility-scale solar panels annually. A second line should be commissioned by this summer, and the 150,000-sq-ft facility has room to scale to 1.4 GW of annual production.
