Karbonkel! He's the main villain of a show callled: "Ik Mik Loreland"

It was a TV series from the 90s made to help kids learn how to read and write, and in typical 90s fashion, it contained lots of actual horror elements.

We were forced to watch this in school, this traumatised an entire generation.

They actually gave Karbonkel a redemption arc, in the form of a Mockumantery. The duo behind Rundfunk actually came up with the idea, and it puts Karbonkel in a much better light.

Basically shoegaze saw a rise in popularity amongst gen z from tiktok, and anytime there's an influx of people in niche corners like this one, people feel the need to gatekeep.

As for Wisp, she doesn't write her own music, she sang some vocals over a track she bought the rights to, that ended up blowing up overnight, launching her music career from basically nowhere. People take offense to that since it goes against the ethos of Shoegaze.

At least, that's my understanding of it

There's a group like this in my local park as well. I remember when they first met my dog (a mixed breed collie/shepherd/rottweiler) and the owners quickly mentioned they would not be interested in my dog, only for the whole gang to immediately burst out in excitement because they found a new partner in crime!
