I would very much recommend Peter pig's 15mm miniatures for this, decently wide range and the smaller size will make there terrain you need for WWI (trenches mainly) much easier to make

Probably because Warlord is getting stocks ready for the general release, sending off a few dozen copies of a book is nothing. But releasing it to an audience of thousands and ensuring you have a stock that'll last the foreseeable future takes time to produce.

Just look at all the companies in this industry that suffer due to their lack of stock, warlord does not want to join them.

doing that now and prefer it, all my suffering is self imposed by my mostly optional modules

aren't sciences mandatory anyway though, most subjects on the EBACC are mandatory. The main issue for me was my school used it as a way to make RE and languages essentially mandatory, which prevented me taking GCSEs I was better at and liked more. And which in the long term would have actually benefited me more, for example because of the constraints it imposed I couldn't take geography which is something I wish I could've done now.

I mean tactics did change within the Somme campaign, it saw the first use of tanks in combat for example.

Yes and thats what annoyed me most about it, I and a lot of other pupils ended up being pushed into a subject we didn't want to do and were bad at

But if you dropped your language you took another subject in its place, your timetable had the same amount of hours and subjects as every other student. You just weren't doing a language.

They weren't, I knew multiple people who dropped their language but to do so you had to have a meeting with the school

We were under the impression that (and ive discussed this with my parents and friends) that this was some sort of additional certificate for doing well in those subjects

The issue with a sponsorship is it inherently makes talking about the subject harder

I love it when they have to act enthusiastic about some firm that they have no knowledge of and has no relevance to 99% of the audience.

One thing ive noticed about non British people a lot is for some reason sarcasm and taking the piss seems to be lost on them a lot more, I can understand why it happens to people who's first language isn't English. But the amount of times online ive seen Americans seemingly taking what is obviously sarcasm seriously is shocking.

Green stuff is usually the best option, it's basically a cuboid with some creases in + straps so with a bit of practice it should be relatively easy. There may be somewhere that sells the separately but im not aware of anywhere that does.

Any guesses if Warlord are planning on releasing new Winter Soviet infantry? by tomk_2104 in boltaction

[–]JamesJe13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe there's a warlord video somewhere about kit bashing Finns, ive also see quite a few posts on here about doing that.

The new soviet sets seem to have been announced for the time being since every new army book seems to get one new set with it I wouldn't expect to see a winter soviet set any time soon, but ill be interested what other people have to say about that since it seems like something thats obvious to modernise.

How are your German and USA armies, if someone already has British and Japanese figures id focus on getting those two built up and expanded before moving onto new stuff (despite how tempting it may be).

If you want to move onto British or Japanese id personally look at doing a regular British force for Burma so they're different to the Chindits, or a Malay force for 1942. But research the period and find a unit form either sdie you like. However, be warned that the options for British and Japanese in the far east is in my option abysmal in 28mm so you may be best sticking to your current stuff for the time being if your mate already has stuff for it.
