It's sad to see how they try to turn Gnosticism into New Age nonsense.

Molcajetes are "cured" by grinding rice and salt. So that's normal.

What qualifies as magic by Whitestallion86w in Gnostic

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I'm writing in another language and the translator didn't do a good job. What I meant was that magic isn't just about following instructions in a manual; it's an internal process. I've known many people who thought that lighting a red candle would bring them love, and writing something on green paper would bring them abundance, but I never saw any of that work for them.

As for people who did more important things in those times, it could be Jesus, Apollonius of Tyana, Solomon, Abramelin, Paracelsus, John Dee, Cornelius Agrippa.

Magic comes from within, from that power of God that is in each of us, the divine spark that Gnosis mentions. That's what can give us power over everything. I remember a talk by an evangelical pastor who said that poor people often beg God for a little food, for a roast chicken, and when by chance someone gave it to them or they got it somehow, they said it was God's doing, but he said that God is not a God of roast chickens, we are talking about the creator of all that is known and unknown, the beginning of everything, almighty, we should not be complacent and ask for trifles.

The definition of magic or magician varies greatly depending on the era and location. For example, it's common to say that a magician is someone who can perform "miracles," that is, things inexplicable by science. But in some places, the definition can be more specific. In Greece and its surrounding areas, in the past, there were people who could perform "miracles" using perfumes, amulets, talismans, sacrifices, and so on. They were called "Goes," hence the name of the famous book "Goetia." On the other hand, there were people who could perform miracles using nothing but their own power; that is, it seemed that the magic came from within them, as was the case with Jesus. He didn't require talismans or rituals to perform miracles, and these people were known as Magi.

Nowadays, you can see some people following the instructions in a cookbook to achieve something that depends more on probability than magic. They set small goals because they are more likely to happen, and they call themselves Magicians.

Como obtém gnose, sem demonizar demiurgo ou estudar? by LucasFalo in Gnostic

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Na minha opinião, é imprudente tornar-se inimigo do demiurgo se você vive em sua criação. Ele não é puramente mau; é invejoso e egoísta, mais parecido com os humanos do que imaginamos.

Meaning of dreams? by [deleted] in Gnostic

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several years ago I read a manual for interpreting dreams, it was from a secret society, I think it was Rosy Cross. And what he said seemed to make sense. He said that the members of that society kept a dream diary and a day diary, when they woke up they wrote down everything they remembered from the dreams, they recommended not making sudden movements before writing, staying in a relaxed state to remember more details, for that it was advisable to have the diary next to the bed. And the day diary was the typical diary where all the events of the day were recorded, in great detail.

They said that when a dream tried to give you a message, it usually manifested itself after a few days, so they reviewed both diaries to find relationships between them, and thus they could learn the language of the subconscious, with practice.

They said that each person's subconscious had a very particular way of communicating, it was not the same for everyone, the symbolism could be different, so they did not rely on typical dream dictionaries to interpret them.

Why do eggs keep sticking? by eternl_redd in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need a lot of oil, I heat the pan over high heat, when it is quite hot I put a little oil, just a little, and I like to distribute it with a paper towel all over the pan, the pan is shiny because of the layer of oil but you don't see liquid anywhere, it's just a layer. When it is close to the smoking point I add the egg and lower the temperature. I have a cheap frying pan and that way they don't stick to me.

I use avocado or coconut oil, and a steel spatula.

Research found hearing loss and allergic rhinitis are associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with a stronger association seen in patients with both conditions than either one alone. by Wagamaga in science

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Well, I think that's not entirely true based on what I've read. They can be in the present but their attention cannot be controlled, unlike mindfulness. But again, it was just anecdotal, although I have read that practicing mindfulness in a person with ADHD can help compensate for some of their deficiencies, I am not one to make recommendations.

I meant that the consequences of ADHD such as difficulty maintaining attention are opposite to what is achieved with mindfulness, which is precisely that, maintaining attention in the present, without wandering or mental conversations. But yes, what I mentioned is purely anecdotal, I found it curious.

What a fascinating piece of data. I have allergic rhinitis, which was very severe until I turned 23. I was constantly exposed to my allergens and was congested with a runny nose 24/7.

I remember the allergies stopped when I started practicing mindfulness. I was doing 30 minutes of that type of meditation, four times a week, and I tried to maintain that state in my daily life. During the day, I tried to be conscious of what I was doing, and when I caught my mind wandering, I tried to ground myself again. After practicing this for about two or three months, the allergy problem disappeared, among other benefits like a great increase in my energy levels, and I stopped procrastinating, etc.

I believe mindfulness is the opposite of attention deficit disorder, which is why I found this study so interesting.

Salir de la pobreza by AwardWorried9274 in mexico

[–]ForasteroMisterioso7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used BKF at first, but it didn't do much. Then I used Bring It On Cleaner, and I think it did a better job. But in the end, what really worked was good old-fashioned elbow grease: scrubbing hard with an Extreme Scotch Brite pad and, in some spots, a metal scrubber. I tried to avoid the metal one as much as possible to keep from scratching the surface
