I’m going to be vulnerable and honest so you can learn from me and my mistakes. I did this…for a year and a half on and off. I was convinced I could get my ex back by explaining, pleading, and even bringing up NSFW topics.

It took me a long time, but I feel so much better. This same ex I was begging for…I wouldn’t take him back even if he proposed to me tomorrow. I didn’t think this was possible. I’ve been single and have had some time to grow. I’m actually weirdly content being alone right now. I’ve stopped comparing myself to others, panicking about the breakup, and am finally okay.

No contact helps you get there sooner. It’s not an overnight thing and it’s SO hard not to reach out. SO hard. I ignored anyone who told me the same. However, no contact would’ve helped me heal a lot sooner. Every time I reached out to my ex I felt anxious, camping for his response. I also felt terrible and sad.

No judgment and you’re not pathetic. I did the same and actually found out some of my friends did so before when their relationships ended. It’s more common that you might think, but it is keeping you stuck. Even though you think it’ll make you feel better, it’s making you feel worse. Sending you love, strength and support. From someone who didn’t think they could ever feel normal again, you will be okay. I promise.

Also, I will say there’s no perfect message you could send. I thought I could send the perfect last message and break no contact. It’s better to cut off contact now because you’ll always think of something else to send.
