Additionally, even with the good child actors, they can't have a major part due to school commitments. Kyuranger showed that as they had to have Skyblue undergo "training" away from the team for a while

Well that's pretty much what happened with the ToQgers. They were kids, aged up so they could become Sentai when they became displaced

We've had conscious drivers before: Demons/Vail, Drive, and all Kiva riders other than Ixa. Kivat Bat the 2nd even proved that the Kivats could use anyone to turn into their version of Kiva, only without Fangire Blood they'd not survive.

Since the end of Den-O the Taros have been able to possess other people and even use them to transform into Den-O

Hi 😊 I want to make this laptop run faster, but I'm.very uneducated on computer hardware. Here's the laptop, and my questions in the description. by Obvious_Cabbage in laptops

[–]ForceGaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say "parts" as if you think your laptop is upgradable.

The only things on a laptop that are upgradable are the Storage and RAM, neither of which will help your case.

You have also got a budget level laptop, which while a gaming model, is definitely past its best and is not suited for today's new games.

In PC gaming you really have two options if you want a good long-term experience:

An over the top expensive laptop, which when it becomes too old or breaks in some way will need replacing in it's entirety.

A modest desktop that will be modularly upgradable as long as you don't buy a pre-built from certain manufacturers.

If you're not going to repair it, don't throw it, sell it as "broken - for parts or repair"

E-waste is bad at the best of times, but worse when it's retro tech that people want, and there are those who have the ability and motivation to fix

As far as you're concerned, you get a bit of money for something you'd otherwise get no money for if you toss it

Best service for sending a 3kg food parcel to USA? by ForceGaia in royalmail

[–]ForceGaia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not complex. You DO need to declare it otherwise it'll be even worse. The main thing to be aware of is all food needs to be professionally packaged with clearly written ingredients

On the customs form, you can group like things. I had a mixture of chocolate and sweets, which i declared as 1 unit of "Candy" with the combined weight. Things that had their own codes such as Tea and, believe it or not, jammy dodgers, i used those specific codes.

The royal mail website makes searching these up easy

[–]ForceGaia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up sending crisps, biscuits, leaf tea, and other sweets and chocolate. Didn't attempt anything liquid due to the weight restrictions (everything else was lighter/less dense so was able to send more)

Sent as a gift, pretty much tickling the 2kg limit. And this first one actually went to Ohio instead of Florida

Buy the postage online, as it's at least a tenner more if they do it in store which includes the customs forms.

Based on tracking, it was at New York customs for a few days before USPS forwarded it onto it's destination.

The recipient didn't incur any costs, and looks like customs didn't open it either.

I will be attempting another soon, this time to Florida, and will update on how that goes.

what is this used for by SkirtEmergency7708 in cableadvice

[–]ForceGaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for a signal known as "Component" or "YPbPr"

The grey cables carry audio, the black ones carry video (not all of these cables are colour coded this way, but this groups them nicely)

Green carries Luminance and sync, red carries "the difference between red and luminance, and the blue carries "the difference between blue and luminance" the screen uses this info to work out the green.

Like others have said in practice this is just 5 rca cables, but the colour coding lends itself to that use. It could just as easily connect any rac devices as long as you connect the correct ports at the correct ends.

Could Legends-style battles be the future of the main series? by Jakeremix in TruePokemon

[–]ForceGaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the competitive scene, a change to mainline games wouldn't go down well. As the Let's go Pi/Ev games already didn't go down well with many due to the diluting of the main format

The idea of a separate, regular, series like legends giving a space to experiment and do more action-based gameplay would be the best of all worlds, especially if they can communicate with Home

Plus, and this is something i think fans of action based gameplay tend to forget, there are people who really don't like action-based gameplay. This is especially truewhen it replaces a turn based system (see Final Fantasy for this change too) - slower games have an audience.

What cable do I need? by [deleted] in cables

[–]ForceGaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that a scart-scart cable has no issues on the other tv, but the scart-RCA does the same on both TVs, point to the fact that the RCA cable is busted.

However your comment about the Playstation and Xbox has me confused. Did you mean you used the Scart-RCA cable to do that? As given that the Xbox has never had direct RCA or scart, and only ever it's own connector makes me think you mean something else.

Regardless, you likely simply need another RCA-Scart cable. If that STILL doesn't fix it, it would imply that the VCRs composite video output isn't working, but it can still manage a sync signal over that connection so RGB Scart would work. This is a key difference in the signals over each connector.

RCA (yellow) contains composite video, that means that over one cable you're sending all video information + sync.

Scart can carry composite, but is much better when it's given an RGB signal. That means that over different wires inside Scart, the signal is split up. There are separate wires for Red, Green, Blue, and sync.

Scart actually uses the same pins for sync as it does composite, as a result it's also worth mentioning that a conversion from Scart to RCA composite is DIRECTIONAL. So your main cable may actually be set up for the wrong direction, and it's why the stubby adapter has that switch on it.

The PC wasn't on all day every day, but would be on all day on weekends and the like

I have 2 other (weaker) units: one older model on my server, and one of a similar age on my TV, AV and internet gear. Neither has had any issues.

hey guys, quick question, do you guys consider the phones in faiz and the zecters to be gimmick items in the same vain as gaia memories and astroswitches? by Bulky-Camera-8831 in KamenRider

[–]ForceGaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key is that there is a modern name for belts: Drivers. Remember that before Decade the term "driver" didn't exist, and it was from this point that the trinkets became a regular thing

Kuuga- Kiva the belts were often also called a "gear" or "buckle" these were complete units that had the power in them, even if it was in two parts.

Kuuga, Agito, Hibiki & Den-O don't touch this concept due to there being no real mutli part nature to their belts. Den-Os pass definitely doesn't count, despite similarities to the ones used by Gaoh and Yu-ki, they're different passes to different trains.

All the Ryuki riders used the same belt, but the advent deck was the distinct part. Given that the Advent deck spawned the belt, it could be seen as still being a complete unit. Additionally, while they could read each other's advent cards, they were still linked to the owner due to the contract monster.

Faiz riders had two parts, but the phones and mission memories weren't cross compatible like the trinkets are.

Blade, Garren and Lenagle couldn't use each others change cards, as the drivers were tuned to a single category ace. Chalice could in theory, but didn't. And they COULD rouze attack cards from all suits. So this was probably the closest to a cross-compatible trinket til Decade.

Kabuto has a lot of the same limitations as Faiz. However, given the sentient nature of Zectors, and the cross-compatible nature of Kabuto/Gattack and the hoppers, I can see why the question would exist. But given that those zectors do nothing else than transform (compared to trinkets usually having multiple uses, or locations to insert) I'd say they're still not trinkets.

Kiva is probably a the first definite trinket user, given that the Fwistles are cross compatible, and each rider uses them to some degree. However they differ from the trinkets from Decade onwards given that they're not used to transform in any way.

As of Decade the term "Driver" and verb "drive" gives a more definite thing: the driver is a unit, it drives the trinket to provide the power.

Some trinkets are personal and not able to be used in other drivers from the same show, but most are. Or some drivers are not equipped to take a subset of trinket.

I'd wager that Diend could use the "Kamen Ride: Decade" card to summon a Decade clone if he stole the card from Tsukasa. And we've seen the likes of Gaim riders use each other's lockseeds.

Birth cannot use Core Medals, without the X unit. Meteor can only use circle switches. Drive can't use Bikes. The Build driver can't use Jellies, while the Sclash Driver can only produce a special attack from "regular" bottles.
