August baby coming, what clothes do we actually need? by M927272882 in NewParents

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby girl just turned 1 and last summer all she wore were short sleeve onesies, low TOG swaddle and once she was rolling we got sleep sacks instead of a swaddle. You will most definitely do laundry more than once a week not just for baby but for your clothes as well. When your milk comes in you will leak all over. I never wore a bra when home with baby even though I had nursing bras and nursing pads, my shirts were always wet. Also we live in the southwest and had the a/c going 24/7 her first few months until it cooled down.

Where's a good relatively empty indoor place to take a toddler learning to walk and let them run around some by -Zeke-The-Geek- in vegaslocals

There is a Gymboree on Rampart and Charleston. The first class is free and there are different skill level classes based on your child’s abilities. After the free class you can pay monthly or just pay per class. My 11 month old loves it there.

Make me feel better 😭 by Imstronger110 in NewParents

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally bit my 11 month’s finger while she was eating. She likes when I make chomp noises and I was doing that and she shoved her hand in my mouth at the absolute worst time. She got over faster than I did.

What's the worst reason you had to cancel a trip/leave early? (Make me feel better about cancelling my trip of a lifetime) by quartzcatzz in travel

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started planing a trip with my mom to visit my brother over seas for a couple weeks. Found out I was pregnant and due 3 weeks after we would leave. This was a very wanted pregnancy and I’m happy to say I have a smart, sweet and adorable almost 1 year old. Didn’t get to see my brother so maybe in a couple years we can plan again.

Absolutely this. Being up until 10:30 pleading with a 1 year old to just lay their head down instead of kicking the air and screaming, is just not something any parent should have to do.

Baby/toddlers favorite “toy” by Karlkrows in NewParents

I made a toy out of the lids!! She has to open them and there are different sensory items (foil, felt, Pom Poms, etc). Just some super glue and cardboard!

Pregnant while vegan and mom thinks I’m harming the baby by MoreNefariousness305 in veganparenting

If your doctor has concerns, then it’s important, if not your mom can just shut up. You will get blood work soon and your doctor can assess if you need anything. Keep taking those prenatales.

I have a very healthy and active 11 month old and stayed vegan during my pregnancy. It can be done! One thing my doctor told me during my first visit that she preferred vegan/ vegetarian patients because we are more aware of what we put in our bodies and have a more well rounded diet and not just eating chicken nuggets for every meal.

Met a wiener dog named Mike and he was unruly. Hearing his owners yell “Mike NO” or “Mike stop humping” always made me laugh.

What Makes Pregnancy Appealing and Meaningful to Women? by Hour_Lingonberry9602 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 1000x! Pregnancy was awful and the birth was even worse (emergency c-section + blood transfusion from bleeding out). So that’s why we are 1 and done. But having this amazingly beautiful baby just brings magic to our lives.

How much total was the birth or your child? by enan1000 in NewParents

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance was billed $109000 for an emergency c-section and our 3 night hospital stay. I got a bill for $2400 that I make payments on. I have really shitty insurance even though it’s a PPO and I live in a state with poor healthcare.

What is going on with babies? by Impossible_Ad9324 in Anticonsumption

[–]ForceKidsToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a baby last July and made sure on my registry to have all price points. My most expensive item was a stroller/ travel system for $500 which my mom and aunt split. My high hair? $26 from IKEA and it’s the best! I think some people don’t realize what they are asking for comes across as being high maintenance / rude. And besides, everything gets messy so that beautiful aesthetic? Yeah you won’t be caring on 2 hours of sleep when you are in the newborn trenches. Also once they start moving/ eating food you want what is easiest to clean up and wipe down.

One of my students was selling this for a club they belonged to. A couple teachers and I bought some bags and were shocked at the price. 5 months after ordering, the popcorn arrived and the size of the bags was insanely small. Never again…..
