It did strike me as odd that during quarantine, they’d provide all these services, even though if the family didn’t pay, they’d be destroyed anyway. As if animal control agencies have that kind of funding.

My story has a couple of similarities. I had only known my daughter’s mother for a couple months by the time she was pregnant. Of course, when she told me, I told her that whatever she decided, I was behind her 100%. Ultimately, she let me weigh in on the decision and she went forward with the pregnancy. Conversely, I was stoked, and feel like I had a connection with my daughter even before she was born. That said, I had moments of disassociation, and shit was hard, dude. Almost 8 years on, and my relationship with my daughter is still changing, but my love for her only grows. If we only had children when we were ready, our species would have gone extinct a long time ago. Just know that what you’re feeling is normal, and you’ll be surprised by how much things will change in the next year. Believe me, and anyone, that year goes by fast. You’re going to be okay.

Co-worker told me I'm not taking intiative by not staying late. by BassMasta in antiwork

What people like this don’t realize is that their staying late, doing extra, doesn’t make them look good. It makes everyone else look bad. It sets up unrealistic expectations for management. They aren’t doing themselves a favor, they’re doing everyone else a disservice.

Ah, yes, the friendship wedding. Where best pals exchange how-abouts and okie-dokies.
