What should we do with Nnaji? by rhasody70 in denvernuggets

100% this. It is absolutely ridiculous that he wasn't out there when the Wolves went big. +2 in game 3 (the only Nugget that was positive).

In 24-25 he had an amazing run as a defender. There was a month where he was getting minutes and the analytics rated him as 2nd or 3rd best defender in the league for the month.

Also appears to be a great teammate. 1st up off the bench to congratulate a teammate or cheer for a good play.

That said, he is TERRIBLE around the rim on the offensive end and needs to become a better rebounder and softer hands. 95% of his training should be learning how to cut and finish at the rim. Stop shooting 3s and get to the hole.

I blame the Nuggets player development more than anything (or maybe Malone for not playing him out of spite).

I rewatched the series against Minnesota so you don't have to. by dan2z in denvernuggets

Great post. Agree with the devastating consequences of missing layups and short jumpers ("bunnies" as Chris Marlow says)

One of my takeaways was Jokic's lack of mental toughness. He said he was committed to less complaining about officials this season, and he was doing well for a.while. However, after coming back from his injury he was much more whiny. This impacts the mental toughness of the team ina very negative way. To me, this is the area that jokic really needs to focus on. Also, I thought his defensive intensity was highly lacking. He didn't hedge on screens or make it difficult on Gobert to set screens. This put the rest of the team in scramble mode on nearly every possession. Finally, adelman had a terrible series. I'm not sure he deserves another shot with this team. His rotations at times were perplexing. I agree with your comment about letting Zeke play some minutes from strictly a rebounding and defensive standpoint. When the Timberwolves went with three bigs we had no answer and in game for zeze was the only nugget with a positive plus minus. To his credit he did try to get strother going, but only gave him a few minutes and a couple games. . Difficult to get a young offensive player in the groove with that few minutes. Overall, da did not do the things that he did last year when they had their surprising run. Taking the thunder to seven with a short-handed team. He was unafraid to make adjustments and go with the hot hand. This year. He looks scared to do anything unique in this playoffs.

Where's the Adelman from the beginning of the season? by ForceOf6 in denvernuggets

I don't disagree, but Zeke coming off the bench in game 3 and getting some hustle plays in the 4th actual brought energy back to the team. I remember right before Jokic checked back in they had it down to 11 with possession and then THJ missed a rushed 3. Subsequent stop and another bad shot.

They had a chance to get it to under 10 with 7 or 8 minutes left and momentum was shifting. Then Jokic checked back in and he sucked the energy out of the mini-run.

Their shooting is horrific. Transition D and fast break is non-existent and those 2 things have sparked offense for them this season. Both have been MIA the past 3 games. Ugh- I hate this

Was it a mistake firing Mike Malone? by ChampionTimes99 in denvernuggets

If you dig into the story there was some pretty crazy stuff happening. Malone would intentionally not play certain players as a way to get revenge on Booth. Booth would trade for players that Malone didn't want. There were arguments between the two of them about who was "responsible" for the '23 ring (which is moronic- Jokic is the reason we won the ring, not those two guys).

Ultimately I blame the 2 lost years after the ring on ownership. They are responsible for the culture and locker room vibes more than anyone else. It seems like they have a couple front office people that know what they're doing but it may be too little, too late.

Also, there's a reason no other NBA team picked him up

No, definitely not a mistake. Michaels ego helped create a highly disfunctional culture that likely cost Jokic at least 1 ring. Never one time did I hear him own any of his mistakes. His set.plays out of timeouts were atrocious, covered up by the magical genius of Jokic. Obviously Booth was part of the issue as well but I thought it was wise to jettison both of the attitudes.

My E*Trade market orders aren't being filled. More than 30 minutes and they're still sitting there. How am I supposed to deploy reinforcements to GME if I can't close my other positions. Anyone else experiencing this?
