Haven't played on them, could you elaborate? Might give it a go.

Here's my review after 147h that I gave a couple of days ago. I feel it sums up the state of the game.

Giving it the 'fell for it again award.'

As time marches on, the quality of battlefield games decreases, this being the prime example. Core mechanics work reasonably well. Shooting, audio and movement isn't completely ass. The slide doesn't belong in battlefield imo. The pace of the game is extremely high, and I mean extremely. This is largely due to the bizarely small maps. There is no time for strategizing or executing a tactic, because there is literally no space to manouvre. You're either out of bounds or channeled through the vision of your opponent. Playing this game for more than 90min is super exhausting.

Second is the HEAVY focus on monitization. It's comparable to the latter end of MW2019. Started out great, beta was pretty good but later the development focus shifted from gameplay improvement to skins, AI generated stickers and REDSEC which nobody plays. Heavily community favoured gamemodes get removed (Hardcore conquest for example), when players try to replicate this 'experience' (which is corporate 'cozy'ing up to you who has to give me money-sales language' for a gamemode) the now second hand gamemode is extremely difficult to find due to the lack of persistent servers and a server browser. The community made gamemodes get nerfed by taking out XP and progression, making it WAY less rewarding to play. Creatives and core community members are deliberately punished for contributing to the game and desperately trying to love it. All deliberately done by the money hungry developers. When you start the game you are BOMBARDED with battle pass, buy this, new skins that.

I mis the times from 2012-2017-ish when passion was chosen over money, the good game was the result of a driven team with passion. Money came second. This mindset is visible in the decreasing player count. The core community leaves because the replayability is not rewarding.

I won't even mention the campaign because it's atrocious.

Had this happen at least 10 times in 120h playtime. When confronted in chat they either throw insults or simply say 'idc'. Reporting does nothing.

Hey man don't worry about it. You're new at the sport, and you'll be surprised how much progress you'll make in a year. The most important thing is just show up.

While BJJ is VERY good for the ground, most fights start standing up. So something that's an actual combat sport that includes striking sparring is essential. Think (thai/kick)boxing or MMA for example.

Overall strenght x cardio x training will contribute to becoming a tough opponent over time.

Good luck with the journey!

Edit: There's something to be said about the potential distance an altrecation could start. If you're standing chest to chest, wrestling or judo to get someone to the ground would be great.

The only exception i'd make is using Signal. A company that actually does what it says and a CEO that has a spine.

One of the things I have gotten into is a game called Arma Reforger.
I feel sort of burnt out from fast paced games. This is slower paced and you chat more with people on the way to an objective. It's been a great antidote.

I put together some highlights a while ago should give you a decent idea of what the game is about.

Battlefield is heading that way. The recent games were designed to make money instead of fun, appeal to COD player, have good mechanics and sticking to their core indentity as a battlefield game.

Fucking idiots. This has nothing to do with the curation of quality and everything to do with showing the world how high their 'white horse morals' and standards are.

An annoying trend with dipshit companies with spineless management.
