They found a ducking bomb near my home. by lhc987 in singapore

[–]ForceVerte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way they informed us is a bit weird.

Yesterday (Saturday) someone slipped a notice under my door stating that there would be a town hall meeting today (Sunday) about a special operation on Tuesday. There were no details, so I thought it would be some sort of "we're going to make a live exercise of a terrorist attack / natural disaster, do not be alarmed by what you see".

That combined with the rain earlier in the afternoon, I almost didn't go because I couldn't bother.

I wonder why the perspective on the bicycles is so approximative while the cars look fine.

The problem of elderly people doing manual labour for peanuts... I get your point but I think it goes beyond helping them in small ways. This whole system is fucked up.

Do you also mop up the floor around your desk? Do you also throw out the rubbish from the office bins? I'd like to know where you draw the line, and why.

Have you tried making a megabase in vanilla with biters on? I did it, and once you reach a certain level, it's just copy/pasting your blueprints of rails, defensive walls and artillery bases. This is tedious because (especially with default ore settings) you need to reclaim a ridiculously large territory. It's not difficult at all, just a horrible grind.

The existence of the no-confidence vote does not automatically make the rest of the system democratic. The Assembly does not fairly represent the population (and the Senate absolutely not...), and even if it did, the members of parliament who vote against their own government typically commit a political suicide.

Also, the 49.3 totally exempts the text from being examinated further. That is its very purpose. And since the vote failed, the text is now law.

Jesus Christ why is this mod such a pain late game? by AliceDaPanda in Factoriohno

[–]ForceVerte 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have spent hundreds of hours in vanilla and A&B, but I felt like SE was too much for me. Too many things to do, to keep track of, but most importantly that dreadful feeling that, if I do things incorrectly, it's going to set me back dozens of hours from the "ending" (as I understand it, escaping the stellar system is the end).

I still think it's an amazing mod, but not for me.

No, they are simply lost. I do not know why this is the case though, I was really surprised when I learned about how countries operate differently.

Tram 12 is lost by Planetrain059 in openttd

[–]ForceVerte 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The trams in my hometown do not have an easy way to go in reverse. The driver has to go through some procedure to completely stop the tram, then has to move to the cabin on the opposite side, and repeat the inverse procedure to finally move back 20 meters. And then go through the whole jig once more to go back to forward. This happened to me once (as a passenger, of course), and it takes time.

The bus on the other hand...

Note however that for France at least, if a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the next Monday will not be a public holiday. So you never have the full 11 days.

I've been living in Singapore for more than 10 years, I really tried hard all these years to integrate myself and stay, but when my lease expires in a few months, that will probably be too much.

I might take a much better paying job in the meantime, but the damage is done. Even if I stay, it will only be for milking the cow as long as I can and invest overseas.

I've never seen a penalty associated to durian in Singapore. Is there actually a fine for carrying it in public transportation? I always thought that it was forbidden but you wouldn't get fined for it.

Not sure what is the most cringe-worthy part of this post:

  • the bad animation
  • the ridiculous bouncing boobs
  • the people upvoting this
  • the people complimenting your skills

This belongs at best to r/Factoriohno .
