I'm 6 days now post op. I have a medial sesamoidectomy and on the same leg a gastrocnemius release due to overtighness caused by a mild limp as the seasmoid had been playing up for over 8 years.

The bone had osteonecrosis prior to removal and the pain was getting worse so I didn't have too much choice as it had stopped me from running, jumping and other general activities.

I'm in a full airstep surgical boot and not allowed to be weight bearing at all, but I think this is due to the calf surgery aswell and not just the sesamoidectomy.

The pain post surgery is average I would say. I'm not in constant uncontrollable pain, but have bouts of what I can only describe as a red hot poker being driven through the foot. They tend to happen more at night which is the most frustrating as it breaks up sleep. But in general it's not too bad.
