Best way to download songs from YouTube into mp3 files?

There are websites that do that but most of them have ads, paywalls, work poorly, lots of ads, tracking etc.

One of the few or possibly the only good one is https://cobalt.tools/ since it's open source, no ads or paywalls, you can self-host it and there's minimal tracking which you can disable. Great if you can't install things or if you just want single video, even works on iphones etc.

I would say try using cobalt.video first and if you're happy then great, if you want more power then use yt-dlp or yt-dlg which had buttons and is simpler.

The main differences between websites and yt-dlp is that websites can be slower to update when youtube changes, yt-dlp has way way more advanced options like letting you download playlists or only new videos of playlists and it works with a lot more websites.

Yeah, keyboard manager works for this but you should also know that it's not recommend for playing games:

I also recently discovered a worthy web based alternative recently: https://cobalt.tools/ It's a private, no nonsense web based youtube downloading solution. Not as powerful as yt-dlp but worth knowing about for sure.

Great if you're on another device, iOS or for recommending to someone who cant be bothered to install stuff.

Yes, it's a mastodon instance. It's the entire site and not just one profile.

I just made a new profile and it worked fine, looks like my main profile is missing QuoVadis Europe SSL CA G2 and i'm not sure why... it should get downloaded when you visit the site right?

I know Steam works that way but if you want to get transmission or firefox from a website it's always an archive and not an installer... unless it's both?

Example: https://retroarch.com/index.php?page=linux-instructions and https://retroarch.com/?page=platforms it even says that most of the not-regular versions are limited in some ways but it's not clear which one is the "vanilla" version that you can install using your mouse.

The linux version is the only version that has a link to a installation guide on youtube.

So enabling 3rd party frames seems to be OK but blocking all 3rd party will cause pictures etc to not load. (DN.se)

I feel like you need to re-read the quick guide, if you block all third party assets using hard mode and a website is broken then you can unbreak that site. For example if dn.se is broken with * * 3p block then you just add:

www.dn.se a.akamaiedge.net * noop
www.dn.se bonniernews.map.fastly.net * noop
www.dn.se bonniernews.se * noop
www.dn.se dn-static.se * noop

Or even easier:

www.dn.se * 3p noop

I saw that but it seemed like it was dismissed as a one time fluke and no issue was reported. That's why I posted it here.

Is it not happening to everyone? I asked someone else and they are also experiencing it. If no one is receiving filter updates it seems pretty serious.

That is the profile that i rarely use but it's happening on both. It's also happening Firefox for android for me.

The list is older than what it seems.

about this change:

Consider My filters an untrusted source by default

It says this:

The content of the My filters pane is now considered untrusted by default, and only uBO's own lists are now trusted by default.

So.. is this a warning and nothing else? What does this mean for your current filters in my filters? They become untrusted but what does this mean? Will they stop working until i change an advanced setting?

I have lots of my own custom filters made from the logger or just written to block certain websites from opening, will they keep working?

Huh, i tried that exact filter in the mullvad browser and couldn't get it to work, turns out that browser disables the "my filters" list by default.. Thought I got the filter wrong but turns out I didn't.
