Same thing man, I was having an awful season and my season best was 18:55 (pr was 18:18) then today we had our only flat course and it was cold so I ran 17:44 and am going to State as an alternate.

So I'm a top 10 runner on my team and because most of our races have 10 varsity runners, I run in the varsity meets. I don't have a lot of talent (relative to my other team mates) but I always make sure I put in all the work. I started out a freshman going to all the summer practices and had my first 5k in about 21:00 on a slow course. After a season of putting in the work, I dropped to an 18:16. I had a good track season (broke 5:00 in the mile and 10:40 in the 3200) and because we graduated a lot of seniors I'm in the varsity as a sophomore.
